GM_Paul here
Al, I didn't get your e-mail. Try to send it to validon@rdinn.com. Did you get my e-mail about my homepage? I put the link on my profile if you want to take a look. Still working on it though, my group page is my issue at the moment. I'll have it covered soon though.

Dont worry Validon.
I added your site to the Webring, and look forward to see your Group page up and running. Just make sure to send me the link again when you are ready.
Also you will need to change the GM name - GM Paul was already in use, and we would like to avoid any kind of confusion in this regard....

Well we're leaving both Valery and Zed for Raw to rip so don't worry.
BTW you know what would be fun...if you guys could keep track of your plans for each round and together with the turn reports put them up on a little web page after the game. I'll do the same, that way you can see what you did wrong and why?

Who scheme and run wild?
Who speak with their wings,
And the way that they smile?
Who are these strangers
Who pass through the door?
Who cover your action
And go you one more?
If you're feeling lucky,
You best not refuse.
It's your game the rules
Are your own win or lose.
Throw out your gold teeth
And see how they roll........."

Mully? MULLOG please! And not Mulldog either...gm_al wrote:So go on Mully, give it a shot.
But, back to the discussion about GM'ing.
How does it work? How much work is it? Is it any fun, or are you all Mother Theresas sacrificing your spare time for other people's sake? Is there anything else I should know?
It would be fun to try being a gm, but first I need to know how it works.

Some raw facts here:
* get a site and group page up (preferrably using the templates from the 'Files' page). Takes a bit of time, depending on your skills....
* learn how the managers work. Means you will need to do a dummy Group and play around with it before you go for the real thing. Again depending largely on your knowledge and skills, but shouldnt be too hard.
* run a Group: Id say you will need about 1 hour per game and Turn you run. Depends on how well you do things (comments, KaoBase, extras for the Players) but usually 1 hour will do. Experienced GMs that know their way around can probably do it in half of the time.
Q: Do I need any programming skills ?
A: No. Even not HTML, although basic HTML knowledge will help you dealing with your page.
Q: How many games can I run ?
A: ONE for starters, and its not allowed to be an exclusive Beginner game. If all goes well the GMC gives you the green lights for more games.
Q: What kind of GMs does the community need ?
A: RELIABLE GMs !! We want GMs we can count on, not overmotivated wannabees that first open tons of Group and then get overloaded with work and quit.... we would prefer you dealing with one game, but dealing well with it.
Q: Is there help if I start as GM ?
A: You bet there is ! (And wait until Nick is fully back in action, he used to do a real good job giving the newbie GMs valuable hints and help)
So.... what are you waiting for ?
