No, that's actually the full name of the game which shows how friendly and open we are 8)

One could even welcome someone to WtWttWoK :)

How about making this topic sticky?

Here's another one. This one concerns the game itself.

Problem 1:
My report for Tyler's game (turn 0) looks like this.

Notice the hiccup about province 45 somewhere in the middle. In the actual game noone owns this province. The OoP and leader board at the very end of the TP are correct, the ones in the middle are not.

Problem 2:
POP files are wrong!!! Both in Han's Duel and in Tyler's Islettes although the names of provinces are correct the numbers from the chart are different from the actual ones. I can help with re-inputing numbers if that's the solution.

Re Trewqh's Prob 2 ..... I think he means that pop in a first TR sometimes does not match what it "should" be from the POP files. I had the same in Cross Islands, just by a pop or three, so I wasn't bothered. But:

Well ..... if we're looking at an overhaul ..... and if Trewqh is volunteering to help by number-crunching ......I have a suggestion (call it #11-and-a-half):

It's always struck me as odd and slightly annoying that the POP file gives Pops BEFORE Turn #00 runs. So, your own start TR, Turn #00, always has the stated POP plus 20%, as do nearby neutrals; [hey, that can't be Trewqh's prob, can it?!?]. So, if you look up POP file to view neutrals, you have to increase it to know what pop provs have at the REAL start of the game, when Turn #00 runs with your start-positions. Mechanical exercise.

I can fully understand that, in order to run Turn #minus01, the game engine needs to start with POP of Turn #01, but it's misleading for players? And new players, even if they ever find a pop-file, will be momentarily phased by finding that their own Pop in start-prov is higher than the Pop-file says .....

OK, can the engine secretly use Turn #-01 pop numbers, but the visible file show Turn #00 pops?? Or, list both? Save us all crunching the Pop to give what they have at the real start?

Trewqh has volunteered time ......!

Cheers,
Han

The POP files are fixed. Sorry about that.

Players in Tyler's group #04, your turn reports may look a bit mangled.

It seems that the engine somehow ran two copies of the turn almost simultaneously. I have no idea how this happened, but probably something to do with the GM getting impatient and pressing the button twice...

It's Tyler's call what to do about this. If you have trouble decoding your reports, I suggest you let him know. He can see your reports too so can either help you figure it out or, if that's too much trouble, re-run turn 0. I'll try to figure out how to stop this happening again.

I would like to officailly thank korexus for fixing problem 2 and taking care of problem 1 (which needs some more investigation) :D

I would also like to put forth a proposition to start calling korexus GM Al. :D

As for Han's idea:
I don't think it is neccessary. The way things are now newcomers have a chance to see that the game actually starts at the beginning of turn 0. They have the chance also to see how POP growth works. I agree that some new players will be confused, but clearing this up to them will be more helpful to them than providing them with POP numbers at the beginning of turn 1.

Anybody?

Not really a bug I don't think but after typing a post I got an error saying there was a syntax error with my SQL. What would prompt that cos I sure wasn't typing any SQL code that I was aware of!!

I see it's not a recurring thing since you were able to post the above post. I'm not an expert, but such things happen somtimes. I don't think it's a problem, but thanks for reporting.

I was just wondering, why is this topic here if there's a Announcements / Bug Report / Suggestions forum??

That's one of WoK's biggest secrets. You have to earn 5 VPs first, before someone will tell you. :P

Chris,

I don't know if it is technically a bug, but under the lobby, I am still showing that I have sent in orders for the Westeros Game for turn one. Turn two has actually already run, and it is listing me as having sent my orders for turn 2. Can you check and see if there is something hung up? Thanks!

Yup. Sal killed the game. He meant to re-run turn 2, but accidentally re-ran turn 1. We're working on it. Well, actually, Sal's working on it, I'm just poking him with a stick from time to time.

In the Advanced WOK test game, if I hit "printer friendly version" of the turn, it says that it cannot find the turn report.

Egbert

That's because there is no printer friendly turn reports.

I'm not even sure how Korexus manages to make the wok4 ones work.

It requires quite a lot of work on the way reports are written, once we're sure the engine is right I'll put one together.
