You can manually reastart your species at any time by posting http://www.kaomaris.com/woksp/restart.p ... SpeciesID=*. After doing this - the map stays from the previous life - so you can exploit the whole map by 50 restarts (if you're lucky :).

P.S. May I get my species before 1st restart 4 a reward of finding this exploit? :D
You are back in! And I think I know how it happened... And thanks for pointing out that ugly exploit! Will fix it asap! :)

What happened to the game during last night?

Seems the DB restored some previous state of the game (from yesterday morning or so) and the game did some extensive nuber of turns!!!

I dont know why, but all the kaomaris databases were restored to copies from yesterday.
I have mailed the server admins and asked them what happened and if they can do anything (not likely).

White plants growth in last cycle was 30%! Is this OK? Was 40% b4.

It depends on the terrain in the square. Forest and mountain have higher growth right now. This will be removed in the next beta.

It's white plants in plains - should be 40% (no bonus) according to the early manual.

Btw, where is the map legend link and where are the terrain tips gone from the map?

I told you someone would notice!

The tool tips went before the start of Kahuna, because the map is now one picture file, instead of a table. - It means that people can all see the map all of the time, which is handy.

Legend: I don't know.

Growth Rates: Were meant to be changed for the next beta but got updated early, it seems...

Ok, I admit it. I took a shortcut and updated the plant growth values. These were not meant to be used until the next beta, but I supposed that nobody would notice... ;)

The link to the map legend page is gone? Hmm! That is a mistake. I will get it back in there.

The tool tips can be added again, but it will be some more work. Do anybody really need them?

I started talking to Al last night about plant growth and it will probably see some reform once we've played with the numbers.
There used to be a minimum growth of 1, which is how 0 went to 1.
Maybe you are ahead of me, but the reason I was wondering is because this isn't working (the minimum growth of 1 plant). Now I have a proof: check sector F5, still 0, was 0 few cycles also. Many other sectors have 0 plants also.

This Region
F5 - plains
Species Units Body size Nutrition value
Green plant 0 2 0

Hamster, the minimum growth was put back to zero (as announced) to be in line with the new growth numbers. You mixed up the two I think.

If plants grow just by 1 on an empty square a (default) "Hunt plant" order would be quite a waste.

OK - that means once cleared square stays as wasteland with no food forever.

There is a nice strategy that can arise from that - clearing all sectores and guarding your own farm square. But it's almost imposible without at least 2 players in a clan... Or simply all BS2 species can have an agreement that they clear all Plant 1 squares. Restarters and those who don't reach BS2 are cursed to die by hunger...

"...all BS2 species can have an agreement..."

I will believe it when I see it. :P

You might tell everyone involved now your cunning little plans with another player in KAHUNA, Hamster. 8)

Ive watched them from a distance and it was fun. Guess I wont sign up for MOJAVE and just be there as a GM this time, I am too tempted to look at other players actions....

All BS1 players can even more easily eat all plants size greater than 1, resulting in a nightmare to bigger BS species :)

Btw, if nobody reaches the last planned turn is it a win for last man standing? Maybe it would be interesting to clear all plants and than pray? :D

Ah man, Kahuna stopped! And I didn't even get to eat everybody else! All I needed was a few hundred more turns and I could have been the sole survivor. Bah.

1) Clearing all the squares will be very difficult with the new stomach limit.
(Not impossible if lots of people cooperated, but as Al said, that's pretty unlikely...)

2) Yes, if only one person is left, that's the winner.

3) Kahuna has been stopped so that we can modify the game engine for Mojave. (If Hamster thought it was bad when his plants didn't grow by so much, he'd freak when we updated everything else )

KAHUNA ended by winning condition - last man standing :)

Will see if the game detects it or will continue to run (maybe on next cycle?!?)
