The end of the world as we know it

Post by Duke » Tue May 11, 2004 9:04 am

That is it. I am folding the clan.

We had a good run and I am proud of the accomplishments we made.

I hope my former clanmember find their way to a suitable clan for them.

Gatekeeper, ringmaster, Zuul or whoever runs the clanpages, please make the proper changes to those sites.

*at this point Duke's eyes rolls back and he yells*

"Free at last!!"

followed by an insane laughter.

Ok, now if which ever one of you has been holding the data on all those WoK records could kindly pass them over, we'll add them to the library, where they belong. We might even let you look at some of them, if you behave yourselves!

I doubt that anyone of us is actually "holding" any records.

I found these on an oooold backup cd I had.

Duke/Daniel,

I'm sad to hear you sound unhappy with something about the community. Especially since I have the highest regard for you since your February (?) post about going to comfort the dying orphan girl in Romania, which moved me. (We sponsor kids in Tanzania and Zimbabwe, but nothing like your personal involvement.)

Care to tell us what seems to have annoyed you? So we can all try and stop it annoying others? For a better community?

If you want to continue as a player, I'm sure every clan would want you to join them. Let me be among the first to invite you. If you want a clan where the people seem to like each other, and respect each other, pls consider joining the Vulkings. Of course, I'm assuming Boss Validon would say yes, and Norway (Mullog) and Sweden would have to bury the 64-year-old hatchet, and Poland (Trewqh) the 400-year-old one, but I'm confident you'd be welcomed. You prob have Vulking blood in you, and an appropriate horned helmet gathering dust in the closet!

Cheers,

Hannibal

Oh dont worry Hannibal.

I was here when you came and I will still be here when you leave.

Seriously, the only reason of folding the clan is that I dont have time to run it at this point in my life. RL take too much of me.

Yes the Romanian trip. Trying to put that somewhere good in my emotional storageroom. Please stay clear of that subject. Thanks.

The only thing that bugs me about WOK is the almost impossible mission to gather newcomers to the game and to make the community grow.

The one thing that really suprised me in the thread was to hear that Duke has actually something like a "backup CD"....

Dont worry on new blood. I am confident to bring not only a few from my SWG adventures but also that once the mobile version hits the floors a few surfers will come to our shores and stay for good.

Duke,
I second what Hannibal said. We'd be honored to have you in our clan. So the offer stands. When you have time to think on it you can let us know.

Aussie Gaz- you, also, are welcome to join The Vulkings.

Join a clan with one guy with a cockney accent and another guy who is from the same state as Letterman. Hmmm, let me give that some thought.

Oh and I forgot. Hannibal, I am born Norwegian so that hatchet is buried already. How do you come off knowing stuff like that anyway? What are you, a history Major?

Actually, it was Duke that brought me back into WOK. And thank you for that! 8)

It would be a pleasure to be in the same clan as you!
