++ Pre-signup for KAHUNA ++

Post by gm_al » Wed May 05, 2004 10:53 am

Please post here if you seek to be on the list of players for KAHUNA, the 4th WOK SPECIES beta. We are looking to keep the list as "closed" to the people posting here as we can, instead aiming to give you a more balanced environment then in EVERGLADES. Map size will be dimensioned according to number of signups. In case of too many signups (>50, doubt that) it will be a first-come-first-served thing. 2-4 extra spots will be reserved for the mobile dev guys.

Expect official opening of the signup around this weekend. More announcements as soon as we can give them.

Well i hope it won't be such a free time drainer as the last beta test...spend way too much time looking after my penguins...and then they died...THEY DIED!

Anyway...i'll try and take better care of my species this time around. :D

I'd play too as long as the Dev team generates a list of available options. Seems they get the advantage because thet already know the "rules" and it doesn't make it as fun and fair to the rest of us.

Why do you always keep these things a secret anyway?
You don't need to tell us the full details but you could at least make us awair of what was changed and what's available.

I'd appreciate it and so would others.

If you make this viewable then I'll play too.

Heh, I think the main reason for not telling you what's going on is so that we can change stuff without you noticing. If you'd known the way things worked way back in Amazonas, you may have got the idea that we didn't really know what we were doing! :P

Apparently there is going to be a players' manual of some form with this beta though, will that keep you happy?

Well Kor, it's just nice to have an idea of what to "aim" for when playing a game of this nature.

Someone needs to list the basic principals of this so "EVERYONE" can enjoy the game, not just those who have more time on theie hands than the rest of us. Without being able to reference a manual or anything you are just playing a roulette game.

It sure would be nice to see this.

I am with Allister. If there is a manual (which according to Rune there will be) I will play, as my concerns about the hibernation mode have finally been addressed after I badgered the dev team enough to do it.

Sign me up again, please.

If I get wiped out anything less than 4 times, it'll be an improvement.

Due to mothers day and some RL commitments we are rather slow in testing, but I am happy to report the bugs found so far arent too harsh.

I look to release the player manual tomorrow (check link in here) and start the signups too then.

KAHUNA should kick off 1-2 days later. Right now it looks like a 5x5 or 6x6 map to me.

Count me in - even I'm not in the mobile dev team anymore.

Please look at my new (now private) e-mail address. I changed it here on the forum, but there are still some places where it's needed to change it too, but I don't know all of them.
