All I know is I'm not too sure if I like that map you fella's chose.

It looks like it sucks, but maybe Saladin can explain to us who have never played that map, how it exactly works.

I remember something about # 60 always being a nuetral and it was a passage way to the other provinces.

If you could, we'd appreciate it. I;m sure you all were informed about how it works by Sal so we expect to be told also.

Thanks

Allister
Looks like TFF has a little research to do

It looks like that map relies more on luck, than skill. So how does it work?

Well UT that's where you're wrong!

This map mainly takes away the luck factor of being lucky or unlucky in your starting position.

How it works (as i used it in my previous game) is as follows:

Province 60 is a portal. You can pass through it to the 10 other provinces it is linked to with those lines. I played it so province 60 will be emptied after every turn. Of course if we should choose so we could say province 60 is just another province (i think this is best for this clan war).

So basically everything that's different on this map is that province 60 links to 10 different provinces on the map.

Oh and all provinces have 100 pop at the start of the game.

Should we put it to a vote? I say we should decide to:

A. Province returns to neutral. (Sal, what happens to POP,WOK,ARMS, etc that are left there?)

B. Province remains with last player that conquered it.

Not really, as it severly limits ones options in the movement phase. There is typically some room to stretch and grow on a "normal" map. If random placement is used some players could be stuck between thier own clanmates with nowhere to go. It wouldn't be as bad if we all started at a spoke.

I would sure hope that eveyone will start on on of the ten lines to 60.

They get eaten by the big empty nothingness. :P

Sorry, i assumed that as well. Everybody starts at a fixed position being one province to the left of a 'spoke' province. I would suggest placing players at random at these positions.

It's best not to start on a 'spoke' as that seriously hampers action on the first turn (no attacking the home province on the first turn). So i would suggest one province to the left. :D

Does 60 start with any nuetral armies?

Ok i would propose the following.

Province 60 is just another regular province just like all the other provinces.

Can everybody live with that? :)

PS: Donut you need to adjust the pop and such for province 60 then.

Yes, you guys have a much better position than we do.

BTW, I take it there's no headhunting?

Posted: Fri Sep 03, 2004 9:02 pm
by Donut
Correct, no headhunting... but as AF has already asked. A player can take the home province from another if they both e-mail me that it is ok for the "headhunting" to occur. I agree that starting a player 1 to the side of the spoke would have been better, but the amount of work required to do that is not really something I wanna do

Province 60 will be a normal neutral than as both clan heads have agreed on it.
