Dear players,

turn 0 is out!

I hope the map is ok for everyone.

One bug was found already: in your spell pocket, the name of your starting spell is missing (the spell ID is still there, so you can find out what you got).
Korexus is working on that one at the moment.

The deadline for turn 1 is in 8 days (it is always normal turn length x2).
If anyone wants an extension right away, I am happy to grant it, I was thinking of running turn 1 maybe on monday 13/08/0.

Any questions, do not hesitate to post here or E-Mail me.

Xarfei

PS: To the beginners: if you have any questions regarding how to submit orders or other basic functions, feel free to E-Mail me. Of course, I cannot answear any questions with regards to strategy or tactic.

Should be fixed now. This won't update your turn report, so I suggest you refer to the manual to check what spell you started with. However any new spells should be listed properly.

Please shout up if anything goes wrong!

Chris.

Dear Players,

I have received a request by Ultyguy to extend the deadline by 4 hours.
I have accepted this request since he had a valid reason and since I already offered to extend the (rather short) deadline for turn 1.

I hope everyone is ok with this.

Dear players,

a problem has come up.
I meant to leave the number of turns of safety at 1, which I thought was the standard and which is why I didn't mention it when I set up the game (I listed all the settings I changed and said that the rest were set to their standard settings).
However, the standard is 2 turns of saftey, which is the value that the game engine would currently use.

Since the 2 turns of safety is what is specified in the house rules, and as I never said that I want to have 1 turn of safety, I will leave the setting as it is.

I have decided to extend the deadline by another 24 hours so that everyone is clear on this.

I entered my orders for our running game Turn 1 and nothing has happened - I pressed the 'I am happy for this turn to run' button too...

The feedback page confirming orders inputted was even displayed.... I really need to hook my pc to a printer so I can prove this but the game engine will show this...

Hmm, this is a tricky issue.

Korexus, any possible way that you could find Hryll's orders?

If those orders can be found, then I would be happy to re-run the turn.

I have suffered from a similar problem in the previous game, where an updated set of orders of mine had "disappeared".

I guess for now every player should be reminded to check if their orders have been entred into the system, i.e. press the "submit orders" button again and check that your orders are displayed.

If the issue is not resolved by tomorrow aftrenoon, I will pause the game.

Thank you I appreciate that...

The reason you saw me online was because I spent hours (literally) re-reading the rules, whilst scanning over old Turn reports when the game wasn't automated and was email based...

If however my orders have somehow slipped below the radar I will just carry on regardless, I can feel a song coming on!!

No orders are in the database for play 4 on turn 1. If you saw the confirmation screen I am very confused as to how this happened!

Players used to get an email confirmation of orders (as did GMs) maybe this would be useful to re-implement?

Indeed I was referring to you in my commentary. I saw you online for a long time before the deadline, however I was very suprised when you appeared to have gone M-1. I actually checked which players had send in orders before I went to bed (~ 5-7 hours before the turn ran) and I remember that your orders slots were empty.

As far as I can tell at the moment, your orders have wondered off into the infamous Wok-Nirvana. I am afraid that things will stay the way they are.
However, I would like to say that your decision to carry on regardless is rather impressing and shows a great fighting spirit! I know quite a few players who have given up after missing turn 1.

Unless I receive new information or requests, the turn will run as scheduled.

I can honestly say that I did input orders for the turn so I am as confused as korexus, however that's now past and I can only look forward to Turn 2 running 'cough' properly :?

Thanks for trying though Xarfei :bluethumb:

Why was it dropped?

It'd be great if it was possible to turn such notifications on and off.

Simply because with orders being stored in the database they *should* never get lost, so the email wouldn't be needed. However that doesn't seem to be the case...

Turning notifications on and off would be a bigger task, but still possible.

Turn 2 and yet another bug:

trewqh send a spy at Ultys Home prov (remember attack/missile/spy safety for the first 2 turns) and the game engine accepted this order, carried it out and the spy returned with some info.

I have now idea how to handle this case.
There is no way that I can get the information out of trewqhs head again(unless he hasn't read his turn report yet - but there is no way to check that).

Any suggestions?

I have seen my TR.

Didn't remember about the headhunting rule in re to spying.

What you can do is change our EFFs as if the order was not carried out.

Ultyguy has also said that he would also be happy if the EFF gets changed accordingly.

I have manually set the EFF values to what they should be if that spy order had never existed.
