Hey boys and girls,

there are still another 4 slots available in the second Advanced Wok game.

This game is open to everyone, including beginners (although preferably together with a more expierenced clan mate).

I encourage everyone to join!

If there are enough beginners (or people haven't played in the long time), I would be willing to design a post explaining the biggest obstacles and problems to deal with during the first couples of turns (the post would be available to everyone of course).

Xarfei

PS: Don't be afraid of Korexus! Rumours say that he has gone soft and keeps mumbling about his new strategy of staying in his home province to build the highest DEF ever to then send out a "surprise" attack with his 15 starting troops on turn 15.......

Hello everyone good to be back, can't to get into a good WoK V game again. Do we have to wait for 10 to start or can we do it with just 8?......... :)

Looking forward to it.

Hi there!

Good to see that some of the old faces keep returning for more every once in a while!

I agree that we could start already. The longer we wait the bigger the risk of there being QUITs.

I too want to start this game asap.

However, I don't want "8" to become the standard starting number of players for an Advanced Wok game (the first game also had only 8 players).

So let this be the final call for more players:

---- Join this game ! ! ! ----

I am going away this weekend, I will probably start the game on monday or tuesday.

Btw, how often do players want the turns to run? (Currently it is once every 96h)

Sounds good to me.

I wouldn't mind a longer deadline, but I should do fine with 96 hours.

Question everything.

I'm fine with the longer turn if that is everyone's preference. I'm also good starting with 8 if it means getting us going.

trewqh, you have any clanmates you can strong arm?

You mean I can't handle myself?

On a more serious note, Han is not a fan of Advanced WoK. Other players don't have time for WoK lately. But thanks for asking. :)

For me right now 96 hour turn around is good, and frankly have always loved WoK 5.......but then I love the complexity of it...... :D

Can't wait to get going.

We have a ninth player:

TBert (Valn Othar)

One more slot left!

As I will be forced to drink some alcohol with my deer colleagues on monday evening, I will start the game on tuesday.

Speed:
Majority seems to prefer 96h, Lardmaster would like it to be 7d.

Korexus, how easy is it to change the game speed?
If it is not to tricky, we could start with one turn every week and then switch to 96h after 4-5 turns.

BigJOzzy: if I don't get another player, I will have to switch you from game slot#10 to game slot#8 (Korexus said that gaps will kill the game engine), so don't be suprised if you get another E-Mail saying that you have been added.

To all GMs:
Is there anything that I need to be aware of when running turn 0?

One change of a value in the database, I think.

When did you start working with Deer?

Either timescale works for me. I can change the setting in the database if you need it. There's no GM option to swap the default mid game.

Gaps will kill the engine, but a blank player won't. You could add a player under the 'control' of the AutoGM. It wouldn't do anything (except potentially provide a haul for whoever kills it) but it would save you messing BigJ around.

Only that, after you have got a turn 0 you are happy with, press the 'publish turn' button or we players won't get a notification.

Thanks,
Chris.

I will replace Santa this Christmas (The pay is a little better then what you get as a PhD student).

Any wishes?

I don't want to place an easy RIP-bonus on the map as only a few players will be able to get to it.

I wish Egbert and Brykovian come back to WoK and start a new clan to heat things up.

So take away all the player's stuff. Or spend ages setting up a game where everyone is equidistant from the blank player. Obviously we're now talking about things which will take longer than just swapping BigJ's player number. But you have options if you want them.
