I'd join if it was a one-turn-per-week game...

(The slightly garbled) houserules say turns will run every 72 hours, but if there's any chance of changing that then I'd be willing to take the 8th spot.

If none of the current players have a problem with that, I'll be happy to do it.

5 days maybe.... 7 drags out a game sooo long, i mean like 4 months minimum is a pretty good way to lose interest in a game.

Don't want to be a pain in the neck if the players want a quicker game, but, at the same time, I'd hate to join a game only to miss turns.

I'm not saying I'd have to use all those 7 days each turn, when I don't have to do diplomacy I usually submit orders ASAP. And I always push the ready button. :)

We don't seem to be inundated with other applicants, so I suggest that I add trewqh as the 8th player, drop the turns down to one a week, ask you all to use the ready button and kick off the game.

:) well now that the summer is upon us, my work schedule is going to go back to abuot 90hrs per week, so a longer deadline will be nice now, but i usually do my turns quickly and push the button as well.

Cheers,

To me, some of the rules are unclear.

Teleport? At what tech level?

Bad weather and bridges?

None of the special options are set. So no teleport, no bad weather and bridges, no 8 city rule and no no player without a city.

Dear Aussi Gaz,

I send you an E-Mail to cancel the Scholars Nap with you. However, I have't had a reply from you yet. As Gm_Gaz@kaomaris.com is the only address I have, I have decided to post my notification here on the boards to make sure that you get it on time.

Best regards,

Xarfei

PS: The original E-Mail:
Dear Aussi Gaz,

this is to inform you that me and Ultyguy hereby cancel our Nap with you.
As we have negotiated a 2 turn notification, this means that we will have peace on turn 14 and 15 and that hostilities can start on turn 16.

I would appreciate it if you could confirm that you have received this message.

Good luck to you!

Xarfei

(Xarfei wakes up after a long long nap)

"Wuuuuuuuuuuah, I think it is time to join in the fun again.
Why have so many provinces turned blue or brown?
Why am I sitting in a rocking chair?
And god dammit, why isn't WOK an olympic discipline?

well, time to wake up my troops and tell them about my secret sneaky little plan that I just dreamt up (literally)"

(Gets up from is chair, heads a few steps south, turns around and storms off in the opposite direction)

FYI: The first online Advanced Wok game is approaching its final stage. Down to a classic 2 versus 2.
The Scholars vs the Others.
The well rested vs the well practiced.
The old and ugly vs the young and naive.
The über confident vs self confident.
The faint vs the bright
The wordy vs the

It is on!

Korexus

I recived 3 identical emails telling me that the game had run.

Also got the following error message when trying to vote for Ultyguy and Xarfei to get the vp's.

Could not execute query.
Query: UPDATE nuke_wok_advanced_game_players SET VoteAgree=1 WHERE GameID=425 AND TurnNR=17 AND PlayerID=3
Error: Unknown column 'VoteAgree' in 'field list'

Oops. - I probably never implemented the voting system. I'll have a look at the weekend.

Also, Xarfei has notified me of a possible bug (haven't had a chance to look yet) so the next turrn may be slightly delayed while I hunt. There won't be a re-run however, as it won't have affected to the game result noticably.

I assume that neither scholar has an objection to this?

I shall mark the game as finished tomorrow evening, unless I hear to the contrary.

Of course, I don't object. Although I wouldn't have mined to continue for a little while

I really enjoyed this game and I would be happy to GM the next one (or play again if there aren't enough scholars)

Thanks a lot to all the players as well as to our magnificant GM!

Game marked as finished.
I should probably fix that bug before a new game kicks off, but feel free to open a waitlist. I wouldn't mind playing again!

I was away for the weekend so didn't have a chance to respond earlier. Would have liked to have played another turn or two, but don't mind ending it now. I'd be up for another.
