Dear Gaz, dear fellow players,

I am going on vacation (skiing in Ischgl, Austria) from Saturday 22nd until Saturday 29th. I will probably not be able to run turns during that time.
It would of course be too much to ask you all to halt the game during that time, therefore I would like to know if it would be possible to put the deadlines such that I will only miss one turn during that time and if it would be possible if Korexus (or another Scholar) could sent in orders for me for that turn.

Servus,

Xarfei

Well, I guess the answer to this question is "no."

Would anyone like to see if this is a bug in the game, though? Mystic Ak does not seem to be working correctly. This is a test game, after all.

Hard for me to debug as I can't see your turn report, but I'll give it a go.

Did you get a message in your turn report along the lines of "Your tribe ... reduces the population needed"?

Nope.

Code: Select all

>> ORDER [06][7][51][4][40] <<
You seek to transform 40 POP into 1 Magicians in province 51
You now have 1 magicians in 51

About the tribes. I dont have a clue about what my tribe does. Is there a list anywhere. I tried the links posted ages ago here in the forum but they doesnt seem to work anymore. Is there a point to having them secret anymore?

Oh, and I can wait for the skier to come back if he doesnt want to miss turns. I have a date with a fat guy in a tight red dress the 24th and might handle explosives on the 31st so I have stuff to do as well.

They'll be going in the manual re-write, but that hasn't happened yet.

I don't think a slow down over Christmas would be a bad thing. - We're all going to have other stuff to do, so maybe Gaz can just delay the turns a bit.

Guys

Something very odd happenning with the ewok code.

Stuff that worked in the Alpha test is starting to go amiss and stuff that looks perfectly alright refuses to work.

I will be pausing the game immediately and will advise you all when it is right to go again.

Missing Pop will be returned etc but a rerun of the current turn may also occur.

Sorry.

Have a Merry Xmas anyway.

I'm good with pausing, however does this mean I have more time to enter my orders?

Pausing the game means that the turn doesn't run when the deadline arrives. This does give you a grace period for entering orders, however it's best not to rely on it as you don't know when the game will be unpaused again (and when it is unpaused the deadline probably be overdue, so the turn will run pretty much instantly...)

I'm OK with a game pause that extends through Christmas, especially since I'll be travelling from the 21st-27th for the Xmas holidays. I can do my turns from my family's house if I have to, but that means wrestling with their computer, which is older than dirt.

Oh, and for the record, my tribe (Zsuk, feeding reduction) seems to be working as intended.

Well, I am going on holiday in a few hours. Back on thee 29th. If any orders have to be done until then, I would be happy if a Scholar could do them for me. If it is to much of hassle, don't bother, it's only a test game.

Marry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Game is set to go again.

Almost everyone has their orders in so it shouldn't be a problem for the game to run.

Everyone has plenty of time to amend their orders if they want to.

Korexus - if you want to review Xarfei's orders then send me an email.

I believe he's entered ordes for this turn. That'll run round about Christmas, so if we follow it up with a slightly longer gap between turns for everyone Xarfei should be able to do all the orders himself.

I guess the Lobby really should allow players or GMs to nominate replacements automagically.

My question is, was Xarfei repelled in his second attack on a neutral last turn? I don't recall that being the case, but I'm not entirely sure. That might mess up his orders if he wasn't. I'd honestly rahter just take a week here and have the next turn run next Saturday in order to avoid the Christmas holidays creating a mess.

Did anyone figure out the Mystic Ak problem?

Check out your revised turn report.

You should see a message to the effect that you get most of your population returned after creating a magician.

ps short answer to your question is YES

Can anyone remember how making upgrades worked?

If I make armies into a type of upgrade then it costs the amount stated in the manual so armies to knights costs 6 wood per unit, but what if I make archers into knights? - Does it cost 6 again, or just the difference in wodd spent so only 2?

I was fairly sure it was the latter, but the manual doesn't say. Does anyone have a turn report or memory of doing this?
