I like that one.

and can I wish Ultyguy luck. A nice easy first game of WOK5 for you, oh and you have 25 hours to sort out your first turn

Luck,

I thought this game was based on skill. I'll take the luck though.

There are still random numbers, so there's space for luck. It's just that the variance tends to be a lot lower than in Standard WoK so skill is more likely to be the deciding factor.

Korexus only emphasising that point in case he loses ;)

Please dont mention luck again. Dameon might read this thread and we finally managed to fool him into thinking that skill has anything to do with it.

He beat me to it and posted his message above when I was typing mine. The cat is out of the box people

The give away was probably when I spanked you and Gaz from the wrong end of a 2 on 1. That was a fun game :D

Nah, the point I'd emphasise for that is diplomacy, the third strand of success in WoK. Now that there are 4 scholars in the game, we all seem to have been issued with new uniforms, - with nice concentric circles on them...

i know this is a test game but wow, if the odds werent already stacked in favor of the scholars with kor and eggie, throw in a clanmate xarfei. hey, why not throw in another scholar in between so 4 scholars can sleep... i know its good practice for new players to get, but the competitor in me hates to lose.... anyway, i'm not really mad, hadda vent a bit. :) GL guys

At this point, I don't remember any WOK games I played in particular that I won or lost. I'm getting old, I think. I'm sure I have a large string of illustrious victories and failures littered in my past, none of which I'd recognize if they walked up to me and shook my hand. I do remember some of the X-games I ran back in the day....good times, good times.

Wow, Nick really has mellowed! Need to test this out...

Everything TK ever said was right!

You steal VPs!

NAP breaking is a perfectly acceptable tactic within WoK!

Please, it'd take much more than that to phase me. I mean, you could even claim something outrageous like "The Scholars are good players" and I wouldn't even twitch! 8)

WOW

Dameon has gone senile or has Alzheimers.

This will take some getting used to.

We've only just started getting people back from that place!

Hmm, maybe it was something they did to him over there that turned Nick into a hippy. Not that I mind, I reckon it'll just make him that much easier to stomp on!

Anyway, back on topic:

I think techlevels per magician should be a GM constant: it'd be fun to allow players to leap up through the early tech levels by gaining 3/magician , or maybe just the maximum of 3 per turn should be editable, or maybe both.

Not loving this no player starts with a magician deal, it's just causing an irritation as transform orders are valuable in the first few turns. (This may well have been your plan but I still don't like being made to think! :P )

I was Mystic Ak, transformed pop into magicians, but it used the full 40 pop each time to convert. Did I do something wrong? Is there any way to get that pop back?

Me too, although I was expecting my tribe to do something else since I had a different one before the restart and didn't noticed it change
