EWOK - Alpha Test 0.3

Post by Aussie Gaz » Fri Aug 17, 2007 11:38 am

Test game is set up. http://www.kaomaris.com/phpNuke/modules ... 373#action

Current players are Trewqh, Nestalawe, Lardmaster, TBert & Nemesis.

The game is not for VP's (only bragging rights).

I would appreciate feed back on all aspects of the turn reports (formatting, colours, line spacings etc).

I've played once before and wasn't the 1st to die in fact I outlived 2 players. Moving swiftly on I've applied to join as every game needs a whipping boy (steady), but I'll understand if the GM whats VET's only...

I don't think so. We've been waiting long enough.

And good job, kor! :)

Hryllantre and Korexus sign in to fill the group.

Please ignore any emails you may recieve with turn reports for this game until I advise otherwise.

I am actually having difficulties running turn 0 as the engine keeps trying to place some of you next to each other. ( A bit like the WOK Defenders of the Earth story Duke posted).

Korexus - Any Ideas why the code is doing this?

Ok. Map issues fixed.

Welcome all.

This is the first run of EWOK on this map (that was where the problem occurred) so look out for possible errors in the ini file as we go along.

Ewok (and the wok4 online program) use modified (rewritten) versions of the old ini files and there may be typos. ( I don't think there wll be but you never can be 100% sure).

As stated earlier, this game is not for Vps but is really the last test before Ewok goes fully online. All aspects of the turn report layouts can still be modified (with a bit of worK), colours and highlights can probably be added also. Bear in mind that some things may not come out very well in the text version of the turn report. (Does anyone still use the text version ?).

All ideas/suggestions welcome (just don't expect them all to make it into the final version. :)

Might have found a bug. I guess I emailed everyone but if I missed someone I am posting it here as well.

Order inputted in the AOF are being resetted from the movementphase and down after you press the "send orders" button.

The orders are being added to the database properly, just not displayed again when you reload the SAOF. No orders have been lost. I'll see what I can do about the display.

Chris.

1. My TR looks funny. :P Some parts are in bigger font than the usual and... centered?!?

2. The engine doesn't accept (or warn about using) lower case letters in the orders.

The marketplace gets slightly confused by malformed orders.

Code: Select all

>> ORDER [12][5][00][00][060] <<
You wish to sell 0 units of
You put 1 for 60 Gold Coins each on the Marketplace.
The 1 Units go into Slot 5 of the Buylist
Nothing was put on the market, so no big deal, but I guess the engine should say it is rejecting the order.
