Heh, that's true. I remember trying to find the WoK IV formula from those reams of Qbasic...
To make life easier, it will be close to the end and should *look* like a formula. (Lots of constants being added together). I also know that Al added a random value to the end, to stop backwards engineering of scores, although that may have been done at the turn report level...
Chris.

I still have VB6 installed, if you want to send it to me for the look-through. Then again, Al never sent me the source code ... so maybe he had a reason for that.Mullog wrote:Ok. I will try to look it up.
Unfortunately, AL's code is quite unreadable so its not trivial to find it out, but I will install Visual Basic and try to find out. And post it here of course.

I think I found it, although I think my copy of the code is old (wok5 v3.3) for there is no random element in the score.
Anyway. Here it is - the secret WOK5 scoring formula:
For each province a player owns add the following: pop + wok * 2 + (armies + pikemen + archers + knights + catapults) * level * 4 + creature nr + trees / 5 + crop / 4 + spies * 3 + gca's * 3 + magicians * 10
Then add the total # of diamonds * 3, the players eff, woodstores / 5 + cornstores / 4 + goldstores / 6 + tech level * 10
Finally add the item numbers of each item in the players Spell & Potion pocket. For instance, if I have spell #87 - refill, add 87 to the score.
I did a few test runs and it looks like this is the correct formula.

After fixing the last couple of bugs this turn I agree with Korexus that the testing is pretty well over.
Unless there are any objections I will just flag the game as finished.
Thanks all for your comments and patience.
Just one Final test of all the optional bits (Ewok - Omega Test ) and Ewok will be set to go.
Sorry it has taken so long.
