GM Wippo Group#02 Neptunes Island
I have decided to run a X-game with the Neptune's Island map:
http://users.ox.ac.uk/~trin1035/WokGame ... oup02.html
X-Game rules:
* All players start in a City.
* Neighbouring ports can be attacked or GCAed at TECH level 5.
* All ports can be reached at TECH level 10.
* Teleport activated at TECH level 15.
* All players start with same tribe (Armrissh).
* Each starting province has 50 Workers on mining.
* Players get 200 gold in their bank account.
* All players start with the "Party" spell.
* The 5 central plains starts with 500 Crop.
* Clanmates are placed opposite to each other.
Rules NOT used:
- No player without a city.
- Any rule restricting who you can share the game with.
Clarification regarding the Ports:
If you have a TECH level below 5, no attacks from one port to any other port are allowed.
Also no GCAs can be fired from one port to another (long range GCAing from other provinces to hit the port of another player IS allowed).
TECH level 5 allows to Attack (and GCA close range) any NEIGHBOURING Port. This does mean that you can attack a neighbouring port and then attack the next neighbouring port along(i.e. "jump" from Port to Port).
TECH level 10 allows you to directly attack (or GCA close range) any Port on the map.
If a player tries to do an illegal attack or GCA order then I will delete the order(s) before I run the turn (without notifying the player).
Special rule:The Quipee Tribe (#01) normally allows teleport 2 Tech levels earlier. In this game, Quipee also reduces the TECH levels required for Port activation, i.e. for players with the Quipee tribe the TECH level borderlines become: 3, 8, 13 instead of 5, 10, 15.
I will allow about one week after turn#00 is run (for diplomacy). Afterwards I will run turns every 3 days (unless a player asks for an extension).

Well, I have got 4 sign ups so far (Donut, Funty, Allister, Korexus).
Is there no one else who wants a wok5 game?
I think not only do we need to bring in loads of n00bs, we should also try try and reactivate some of the old experienced players. Of course this also requires enough open Wok5 games but with Wok online being active that should not be too much of a problem.

Although I like a fast paced game, I'm begining to think that making more than 1 turn due per week is keeping others from signing up. Maybe with summer here now more people are wanting to spend time outside rather than on the inside.
Just a thought.
I know Taker would sign up but with the turns due every 3-4 days, he says that's too much to do this time of year.
Allister

Maybe someone should run a game only for veteran players who have not played in a long time. There has been a lot of changes recently that have significantly affected WOK5 and I guess most old school players are unfamiliar with those changes and won't stand a chance against players such as TK, Allister, Korexus, (Donut ) etc, which might discurage them from playing. On the other hand it might be hard to fill a game with just those players.Saladin wrote:How about making a list to see which golden oldies we'd like to see back here?
On the top of my list would be Coolant!!!
Just looking through Kaholla, there are quite a few players who have not been very active recently (playing games) but have done well in the past:
Bjorn
Aussi Gaz
Smashface
Goat Herder
Nestalawe
Nemesis
Yarosund
Lardmaster
Xwing
Coolant
Mylantis
Strider
Trewqh
Baron Roland
Skarn
Mac an Ghiolla
Anyway, I haven't been playing wok for that long so most of the above names I have only ever seen when I was watching TK (and Korexus) play before I joined up.

Bjorn... could probably be roped into another game.
Gaz is still pretty active, only one game at a time though I think.
Smashy... probably scared.
I e-mailed GH a few weeks back and he said he'd like to make a comeback but the game is too personal.
Nesty... possibility.
Nemesis... working on it.
Yarosund is actually pretty active
XWing... possibilty I guess.
Coolant... don't know who that is.
Mylantis... hasn't been too active since champs.
Strider... good idea.
Trewqh... scared
Baron Roland... don't know who that is.
Skarn... busy.
Mac an Ghiolla... don't know who that is.
Also, why is my name in parenthesis? I thought we were friends ...

I've recently seen Nesty via another website .... and I can't believe no one mentioned Count Henri.

Your name is in parenthesis because of the recent referrals to "your winning streak";Donut wrote:Also, why is my name in parenthesis? I thought we were friends ...
you have the potential to one day be named alongside players such as TK or Massie but winning 1.5VP does not quite get you there yet.
As far as I know he suddenly just disappeared. TK tried to get hold of him but all he managed was to get in contact with CH brother who said he would forward TKs message (but TK then never heard from CH).Brykovian wrote:.... and I can't believe no one mentioned Count Henri.

I'll start ...TK wrote:OK, who gets to tell him?Donut wrote:Baron Roland... don't know who that is.
First champ ... quantum physics ... science fiction ... pseudo science ... long, rambling conversations ... loudly stated opinion, with an eviscerating wit as a sidearm ... unstable ... (forgotten) lithium stick ... (the original) Gone!
How's that? Much clearer now?

You are correct, sir ... I figured TK would have filled you in, if you hadn't witnessed those events yourself.Xarfei wrote:As far as I know he suddenly just disappeared. Still ... I'd like to see his return. I'm sure Saladin would too.
