@UD: taken from the history page, release notes on V3.30:
"++ all game options are saved along in the .DAT files ! (this implies that you must first load a Turn data if youre running a Turn greater then the initial Turn)"

... means that since V3.30 MORE data is added to the .DAT files, so possibly loading a V3.25 file would be possible. Id still be careful with it. Frankly guys, you are ONE Turn into the game so a full restart wouldnt REALLY hurt you champions, would it...?

Ah well, your choice. Im going to push the code again so I can finish V3.30.6 asap, then its up to you to take your pick.

It seems we are OK now, so lets stick with it.

But wouldnt it be fun to use all the new options from V3.30.6 ? Certainly only a TRUE champion would be able to win such a game...

You can't change versions just because a new one came out AFTER the game started, Al, you know that. If Pat was using an old version that's one thing but he is now using the most updated version available, and certainly the one most of the contestants in this years champs got there using.

YEA!

If you had gotten this done before the first of the year we wouldn't even be having this argument. We would have had it before the game started. then I would have been reminded to use the proper version and NONE of this would have happened.

Seems you guys all turn crazy in here lately... now what, its my fault ? Oh well, Im just trying to fix things here, SUGGESTING what you could do, you know.

We had V3.30.4 before the champs started, and seems none of the participants (including the GM) noticed the outdated old engine before Turn#1 was ran. Too bad, but things like these can happen. Now I wouldnt care less if not for the fact that V3.30 fixed a few nasty bugs, otherwise Pat could just keep using V3.25 for it.

The fact that I finally managed to update the engine has nothing to do with this. I have about a dozen of projects I am always working on and most of them have some real-life outcomes and consequences for me.

Do as you please with the champs, use whatever version you wish. I will let you handle this (as I usually do), no more "good advices" from me here.

Ah chill out AL Pat wasn't REALLY blaming you for anything. Just as I hope you weren't REALLY serious about changing the version mid-game simply because an improved one came out. Especially considering some people have done things like changed tribes or upgraded units already and you can't have one set of rules for doing that for two turns and another for the rest of the game! 8)

Yeah, now somebody else will get to win the Champs besides Egbert, finally! My money is on TK, he has lots of forests and we all know how crucial that is to victory. That, and I'll have to tear through Allister before I can even think about hitting him, something I'm not sure I'm able to do. 8)

How strange - my money is on Valn Ohtar. They have stayed out of the early fights, which everyone else has been involved in. With all that build-up time, they would have to make a right mess of it not to win now!

Hmmm let me see Aussie Gaz did finish off Gravemaker, and as it turned out neither Dameon or UT needed to help me with Korexus. However, they both were going to come to my aid before the rerun made it unnecessary, so I think everyone has done what was needed of them to get us ALL to this spot in the game. frankly I think there will be a lot of luck in who survives to the last 3 or 4, but then again sometimes you need to make your own luck too.

Now how can you say that? Aussie Gaz took out Gravemaker last turn. Just because Nick didn't have a Scholar close enough to help against them isn't his fault. It appears the 7 players remaining made some kind of deal to get rid of the Scholars first. NOW we shall see how the mercenaries decide to play it with the remaining 2 clans.

Yes, there does seem to have been a bit of anti-cholar feeling this year. The WoK IV Champs seems to have seen the same sort of deal...

Oops. You're right. VO have issued one attack between them over the last 4 turns. Thanks VO. 8) Shame you didnt tell anyone you were doing it, and ended up colliding with Allister.

Maybe it appears that way, but it isnt like that.

Egbert sealed his own fate by declining a NAP with Nesty unless Nesty was willing to run at me. Looking back, a 1-on-1 may have been better than the 2-on-1 he chose. Of course, I was always going to attack him, just as he was always going to attack me.

Gravemaker was looking safe until he missed the turn, when suddenly his goodies were too tempting to leave alone. 45 less armies made them quite vulnerable.

Finally, Massi went for Korexus. Well, Massi *always* goes for Korexus (and usually wins, huh Chris? ).

Actually, I think that's the first time in a while. Even then it took a re-run

Yeah, I wouldn't be surprised if AF emailed Gaz before Gaz had a chance to do his orders. Smells a little funny. And not ha-ha funny. :x
