WOK Map Assistant Updated

Post by Brykovian » Sat Apr 17, 2004 7:46 pm

I've (finally) updated my "WOK Map Assistant" program ... now at version 1.5.
It can still be found at the same link: http://www.mwgames.com/_ufiles/WOKMapAssistantSetup.exe

Uninstall any older versions first before installing this lastest version.

Changes include:
Version 1.5 -- 17-April-2004
----------------------------
Removed:
>All WOK:MW References in the application & help files
>Map Info (this was only stored in a WOK:MW map anyway)

Added:
>Extensive Error Catching and Logging
>Backup of existing file during saving
>Prompt to save a changed file before Loading/Creating another map & before quitting

Updated:
>Made the File Loading/Saving routines more robust
>Province Info Section to be more WOK4/5 specific (part of WOK:MW removal)
>HTML Help Files
For those of you (Nick ;)) who have never used the Assistant to help you create/edit WOK4/5 Map INI files, I highly recommend it -- it cuts out a lot of the time and helps to avoid typos and fat-finger problems.

For those of you who have never looked into making new WOK4/5 maps, I recommend you check out Nick's how-to guide on making the Bitmap (http://www.angelfire.com/mo2/kaomaris/mapmaker.html), then use the Assistant for creating the INI.

Cheers,
-Bryk

Had quite the set of spring thunderstorms here last night ... there was even talk of a funnel cloud (though no official touch-down reported) around the town where my web server host lives. I'm sure he (and/or his ISP) lost power last night.

Every thing is back online again this morning.
