Sounds vaguely relgious. pearl door = pearly gates = gates of heaven?
through blood I have saved you, blood of Christ?
*goes to get bible which is handily placed in every student's room.

*OK, goes and gets BCP, which isn't...

Hmm, nothing matches exactly, but "though his [Christ's] death and resurection has opened the gates of glory" seems pretty close.

And I thought it was going to be a joke! :(

As almost the entire Christian religion is build up out of parts of other religions, cults and even myths there's of course a big chance that any quote from some story, song, or whatever has resembles to quotes from the bible. doesn't necessarily mean it's of Christian making. :)

Yes a lot of Christianity is just 'Pagan' religions with the nudity removed...

Plus as Trewq (sp?) commented in the "Myths'R'Us" thread there are a finite ammount of 'stories' used by humanity to express the universe. Hence the resonance this has with both the Bible and an Anne Rice novel...

(Bjorn checks in to see how this thread is going.)

OK, who hijacked the discussion of the Clan Championship! I see no GM has volunteered for it. Maybe Bryk and Fredo already have someone in mind?

:D Very impressive Poly'! Allways such a treat to encounter someone foreign who recognizes your own language.
The text is from a kind of free church song, at least around here usually performed publically by members of the Salvation Army and the likes.
As far the other text goes, the one Duke threw at me, it comes from an old swedish punk rock song and a rough tranlslation would be "The government and the money, they are all in the same boat..."
It was meant as a joke. D. and I get along well and like to make fun of one another. Since I am somewhat left wing politically D. thinks it's funny to make me out as a communist and with him being slightly conservative I thought it'd be funny to point out the connection between the Christian democratic party and the free church movement.

Is that what Bjorn was doing? asking for a GM? if they need 1 I would be willing to run the game. If the respective clanheads already have someone lined up that is cool but if they are looking I was debating opening a WOK5 game anyway but since Duke beat me to the punch I guess I could run a clan war instead. LF, Bryk, let me know if you want me to run it. I would try to get turns run every 4-5 days time permitting.

I've been away from the Net for a few days, so I'll finally get in on this thread ...

Pat ... I would be very pleased if you would GM the game. I'll talk it over with Fredo and see what comes of it.

Fredo ... You should be getting an e-mail soon. ;) If I understand the rules right, BoV chooses the game (which I assume would be WOK5), and we choose the map ... as usual, we've got a discussion going in the library.

This will be fun!

If I understand the rules right, BoV chooses the game (which I assume would be WOK5), and we choose the map
unless the Scholars somehow overtake BoV in the next 8 days that would be correct. I will wait until I hear from both Clanheads then I would send a mail to both asking about their choices of players and game/map. Hopefully I could get the game started by the 4th or 5th of March. that is as long as Fredo doesn't mind me running it.

Oh sure, by all means I have absolutely nothing against you running this game Pat. On the contrary I would like to thank you for stepping up to do the job and look forward to getting in touch with you through e-mail.
I will be away over the weekend but I will start the decision process within the clan and will get back to you with the results.

Go Brotherhood! :D

It is March 1st and no new game results have been reported. The 1st 2003 Clan scoring period ends with the Scholars winning the "Kaos" League and the defending champion "Brotherhood of Vayuna" again winning the "Mare" League. Overall final standings are as follows.

1. Brotherhood of Vayuna 18VPs
2. The Scholars 14.5 VPs
3. Circle of Nine 11 VPs
4. The Hell Hounds 5 VPs
5. Balance of Time 4 VPs
6. The Kaomarian Guard 3 VPs
7. The First Family 2 VPs
8. Tuatha-de-Dannan 1.5VPs
9. Thuggee 1 VPs
10. Dark Stone 0 VPs

I guess GM Pat can contact the Clan Heads to see who is playing, choose game and map, etc.

At my earliest opportunity I will reorganize the leagues according to the charter. All odd number teams will join the Brotherhood in the Mare League and all even numbered teams will join The Scholars in the Kaos League.

I think that according to the current clan rules the over all winner and all the clans with uneven position in the total clan standings form the Kaos league and all the clans with even numbers form the Mare league.
As far as the clan champs game goes the game has allready been set up and the initial turn has been send out.

Go Brotherhood!

I can swap the league names, if that is what you wish. I didn't know it matters.

Fredo with post #99. One more post on the boards and you get promoted to Trooper!

I've been working on a themesong for the Champs :

"Little Lord Fredo sitting in a tree,
When along comes Count Henri,
Who brutally splits Fredo's skull open with an axe."

Hmmm still needs work...

So LF how does it feel to know you're going to set the new RIP record for a participant in a Clan War?
