That was actually Danish!!!

A question though, how many british astronauts are in orbit right now? Oh,none? Well there is a Swede up there going for som record in frisbeethrowing. (you'd think they have better things to do  )

Oh and no need to add that you are joking. I got that like a year ago so simply bring it on, I wont be offended or upset. I've only gotten mad once over all these years and X-wing managed that so unless you are Irish and know what buttons to push then you'll be out in clear.

Duke, I know that YOU know we're joking; but there might even be a third person reading ... and, in future, hundreds of them. We'd like them to enjoy the ribbing and not get a wrong impression that our community has flamers or anything, right? :)

And I know it was actually Danish and not Swedish ... as the sentence actually says!
Maybe I should post in Swedish just for you ...men jeg taler dansk god, men jeg taler ikke svensk. Forvil.
actually translates as Maybe I should post in Swedish for you ... but I speak Danish but I don't speak Swedish. Bye

Jeg har vaert i Danmark, men ikke i Svenska. Jeg kunne lide at snager Dansk.

And I have taken up Japanese lately. It's not that difficult, but maybe it's not difficult yet since up until now all we had learned uses the verb "desu" which is "to be" that is not conjugated by person or number.

I also know hiragana (one of four writing systems used in Japan), but here's a sample of Japanese in romaji (transcription using roman letters):

Watashi wa trewqh desu.
Watashi wa Vulkings no membaa desu.
Chris-kun wa nijuusansai desu.
Roscow-san to Melin-san wa furui desu.

24? You are a kid! I was 30 a few months ago...
And why are you posting in danish? Do we have any danish players? Do anybody understand danish? They all sound like they are drunk to me.

I shudder to think what "...wa furui desu" means, which Roscow-san to Melin-san was apparently guilty of ...

Oh, and I'm delighted that Roscow, Melin and Rune all merit a -san honorific, but Chris only a -kun one :) Or is -kun higher?! :)

Loosely translated:

I am trewqh.
I am a member of the Vulkings.
Chris is 23.
Mr. Roscow and Mr. Melin are old.

To which I replied "Rune is old" after his post. However, as trewqh's corrction shows, picking up Japanese by watching the 'Karate Kid' films is not a flawless method...

I can't remember being 24 (or 30) as it was a while ago. My eldest son is 22 if that helps. :ohwow:

Ok, a tad late to reply but Han, I knew that you knew that it was Danish and all I was saying was that I was surprised that ......aaaaah nevermind.

And Mullog is right. They sound (and probably are) drunk in Denmark. In writing I guess Swedes, Danes and Norwegians understand eachother but make no mistake. A swede and a Norwegian can talk. A Dane is simply not understandable to anyone but himself.

Oh and I am 30 and still hot! *winks at Korexus*
