I maintain that my duel-lite loss to AG was caused by excess amount of... sleep-anites... which are a new type of robot I just made up. They are created when people have too many children, not enough money, and not enough sleep. They have infested my brain, and now I've resorted to doing things like... taking naps. And my hair is starting to go. And I lost at a duel.
Yeah, that's my excuse.

Good lord, is THAT what they are? I've been trying to figure out what's happened to me for months, but now I finally get it. Sleep-anites. It all makes so much sense now...TBert wrote:I maintain that my duel-lite loss to AG was caused by excess amount of... sleep-anites... which are a new type of robot I just made up. It's amazing how similar this Duel was to my own recent Duel with The Duke! GM Mike, Homelands map. Duke left MY Oranges to grow as strong as they liked, early took out my Yellows, then sent all his three after my Violets to win by ignoring one of my colours and taking out the other two. I spent half the game re-directing my powerful Oranges to go save my weak Violets which were being attacked by all three of his mediums. Only made it by a whisker...Duke wrote:Well AG, dont feel bad for losing against me. Only Han has won and he invented the whole thing.
(not letting it get to my head as you notice)
I AM INVINCIBLE!!!
And The Duke might well be invincible now, now that he's perfected that technique! But someone will come up with a counter-strategy. That's the beauty of a game in its early days - nobody knows the optimum strategy overall, or if there even IS one...

Thanks, Yond, yes, great, pls set it up. Full Duel #43, Hannibal v Aussie Gaz.Yondallus wrote:I should be able to start the game if you're both interested.
As for map, I suggest Feudal - great for Duels. Pls not Original or Austria or MissileMania. And preferably not Homelands till amended by trewqh, nor Three Worlds till amended by Vortan.
I'm hoping you've scanned through the TIPS FOR GM'S GM'ING DUELS that appears at the end of the Duel Rules? Great. Thanks.
And thanks to AG for giving me a game. I'll be on the look-out for you trying Duke's strategy ...

What needs ammending? While it's possible for trewqh to fix stuff on his map, Vortan can't change his without remaking the whole thing, as he doesn't have database access...Hannibal wrote:And preferably not Homelands till amended by trewqh, nor Three Worlds till amended by Vortan.
