Post by Vortan » Mon Jun 11, 2007 11:07 am

Well its about time I gave the full DUEL a go so I have applied to join Hans Water Crossing game which has been going begging for some time now. Anyone up for it?
Now WHY did it do THAT!

Oh surely one of you mighty heroes has the courage to take the field against me ... or is it perhaps that I seem to now be becoming more skilled

I am  to find myself on a site filled with COWARDS who are afraid to take up the challenge. Very disappointing indeed. I await your pleasure.

Yes I can do that. And I'd be happy to.

I'll just create/open a new game, a Duel-Lite one, for Vortan and Saladin.

It can be on Water-Cossing, or another map. No reason not to make it Water-Crossing, so it'll be that unless either of you says otherwise.

In fact (Kor) I HAVE to create a new game anyway, cos the game-set-ups of the two on display as next Duel and next Duel-Lite, were created before some improvements such as on player-comments-in-chron-order, so it was always gonna be the case that any sign-ups would need a new game created.

So, great. I'll set it up. I'm particularly interested in how it will pan out, cos I designed Lite with the intention of a tension between whether you go for knocking out your opponent OR taking out three Robos. You've both won a Lite before by knocking out Robos; I'm riveted to see whether you go for each other or for 3 Robos - that's the central strategic issue in Lite...

OK, I'm off to set it up.

And they are off!

Well ... I am at least ... the micro-management specialist was last seen heading to a dark room with slide rule and pop file. :P

It won't matter how many times you run the WOKulator Sal. You are going to become my second Scholar scalp. :bluegrab:

I think you could say the first round goes to me, with taking 21 for free from you. Apart from that i think we're still fairly even.

Well i've got my orders in. It will be very interesting to see what happened in the morning. :D

Korexus/Hannibal, could we have a rerun please? For some reason i wasn't able to spy on the light blue player with my purple player because it says they're napped.

Also my orange player wasn't allowed to attack province 30 saying that it was headhunting. But it's turn 2 and i double checked the house rules before i put in my orders and they said that headhunting wasn't allowed on turn 1, so turn 2 should be allowed.

Could one of you guys fix this and rerun the turn?

The game is still set up as full Duel. Han doesn't have the option to set it as 'Lite' and I haven't had the chance yet. I was sort of hoping you'd wait until I told you it had started before careering off...

The Headhunting bug is starting to perplex me. I'll try again to hunt it down tonight. Be warned, you may get lots of turn notificattions...

Yeah Vortan and me are keen to get multiple turns in each day. If we really try we could finish this game in one day. :P

By the way to be complete in my info. The house rules for this game were the full duel house rules, so i looked up some house rules for a duel light (i think it was the Vortan-Dragonette) duel which said 1 turn headhunting. Maybe the 2 turn headhunting is caused by it still being a full duel?

Any chance of doing a quick fix this morning so we can continue the game (i'm bored at work!) and then a real fix for future games tonight? If not that's fine, but it would be nice to be able to play the game some more this afternoon.
