I think GMs Dragonette and Han should probably merge games. I'm not sure the need for games is high enough right now to justify two open waiting lists.
I know that the games were set up with different ojectives in mind (Han's was purely for beginners) but there's no point having a beginners only game if it never opens...
korexus.
PS. 55378008, I can see one obvious way to remember your name, but I'm not sure everyone will hit on it...

I don't remember any fun before computers. As long as we include my plug in Atari. 112 versions of space invaders on one cartridge. Now those were the days.

Christians believe that Jesus spent 40 days in the wilderness fasting. To commemorate this, there used to be a tradition of fasting for the 40 days running up to Easter (Lent). In the modern day this is more commonly done as "giving something up for Lent".
As it is pretty hard to go without any food at all for 6 weeks, people would cut out on fatty or luxury type foods. Back in the day that didn't mean not going large when at McDonald's, it meant no butter, eggs, milk, etc.
The thing is that butter, eggs and milk go off pretty quickly. Even with a good fridge they won't last for 6 weeks and when all you had to store food was a cool cupboard, you were looking at a very bad smell and a lot of wasted food before the end. The solution was to eat all the perishable foods before you started fasting. Thus, on the day before Lent, you put all the eggs, milk and butter into a jar, add some flour so that it would thicken up and made pancakes.
Hope that helped.

PS. Xarfei, you still owe me pancakes from 3 years back...
