New Game.- GM Chris Cross Island.

Now that Egbert's game has kicked off, I thought I'd open a new Standard WoK waitlist. It can't hurt to have a game open at all times after all...
I've chosen the Cross Island map. It's fairly open and hasn't had an outing in a while. To increase the carnage somewhat, I've reduced the tech points for each extra attack to 60% of the standard (30, 60, 90, 120). Also, player's homes will start by producing TEC. I've tweaked the starting DEF so that homes are still defendable and I've increased the initial chance of success on a multi-province spy operation to reflect that players no longer get all the province data.
The game should be in the lobby. Click on the new Open Standard WoK Games link on the left to have a look.
Chris.
PS, I think my next addition will be to implement a bot which creates a game whenever there is no open waitlist...

Chris Cross, Cris Cross. Am I the only one who found this funny? Does anyone remember the little boys with their pants on backwards?

I do remember them. I belive that "jump" was what they wanted me to do. Hard with the pants like that. They had an image of not smiling either.
You had to look deep to find the Kris Kros connection (or was it with two s's? I know they had K's)

We had a kid's TV programme here called "Chris Cross" once. Something about two guys at a boarding school during the first year that girls were admitted...
I don't remember anything about kids jumping round without their pants properly on. Quite frankly, I'm disturbed that Fredo and Duke do...

I think they only held concerts in northern mainland Europe ... since that's the only place folks would buy tickets for them.
Sven: "Vat's up vit da two goofy looking kids on stage?"
Ole: "Americans!"
Sven: "Ahhh ... I see now!"
Ole: "Kinda makes me vant to viggle my backside ..."
Sven: "Yah."
Ole: "But not too much."
Sven: "Oh ... no, of course not."
Ole: "Did you vanna jump, like dey say to?"
Sven: "Oh ... not really, no."
Ole: "Yah ... me either."

Chris,
Seeing that this game filled up (just one spot left).
How about opening another game, i'd love to join one again.

3 VO?

Good spot, Ruben. I was sure I could only see one VO player when I added caster...
One of caster, Superkiller and Klis will have to back out of this game, I will open another though, unless anyone else wants to. -It's not as though it needs a whole lot of effort after all...

Seeing that we don't have too many players around at the moment i think the most important thing is for people to be able to play.
Right now our two players max. rule per clan is limiting the number of people that can play and the number of games that get filled. Not even mentioning that it takes longer to fill those games.
I would like to make two suggestions and would like to hear everybody's opinions.
1. We allow people to sign up as mercenary if there are already two players from their clan in a game. This would have the following restrictions.
a) The waitinglist has been open for at least a week.
b) There are no other players who want to join.
2. If a waitinglist has been open for quite a while and it's quite obvious that there aren't any other people going to join any time soon. Games should be able to start with only 8 or 9 players. As it's better to actually play the game with only 8 players than to wait and wait and wait for the last two and never getting the game going.
Both rules are of course temporary rules to make sure that we make the most of the games and players we have till we get back to a respectable number of players.
So what do you guys think, should we implement these rules or are there other solutions we've over looked?

Games already can start with 8 or 9 players, at GMs discretion; The empty slots count as QUIT players. Merc thing might work, but I can see people bitching about some players having two teammates and thus more cooperation. Of course that happens already to an extent but not quite so much.

Well you read what you want to read, or no?
A freudian read as opposed to a freudian slip?
