it's true that you can get killed in an instant, like me in Suburbanites. That could happen any time. Try and get other players on your side to kill them off?
It might also have helped if your clanmate didn't go M-1

Hmm...neah Griffon wouldn't have been able to help Odessa in this case.

The order of play is very important in this game Odessa. Eg was after you in the order of play, so you should make sure you don't leave any undefended provinces that he can freely take. In this case you could have tried and stop him by taking province 27 and then 48 and waiting there for him with your remaining high level armies. Or you could have just taken 48 and waited there for Eg, there would be a big chance you would have defeated his high level armies and that would have left him at one neutral as well and you would have had neutral 48 to build new armies from.

It's all about what you expect the other player to do and countering it. I mean i got very lucky on this first turn. I decided to go all out and try and get as much as possible. Had Griffon sent in some orders taking any of the neutrals i was going after, he probably would have seriously hurt me...so me lucky. I guess that picture of Duke that i sent to Donut really paid off. :P

For the record, Griffon had asked for an extension but I was unable to extend the turn in time before it ran.

And that pictures was..... Interesting....

Hey, I like my bellybutton lint...

But you're right. I haven't been here very long, but it seems the best way to learn how to survive a first-turn double-team would be to go through a few of them... But don't worry, I'll get you later... Maybe not today, maybe not tomorrow, but soon, and for the rest of your life! Er... yeah, something.

You'll get me for the rest of my life?

Hey, I'm up for it but I'll have to discuss it with my wife.

So.... this beginner game. How often would the turns be? I'm toying with the idea of signing up, though I think the longer the turns the more apt I would be to sign up...

If I could interject.

The beginner game won't start for at least another week and a half.

This is for a very simple reason: WoK-On is still in test mode, we have one official test game, Taker's Missilemania. That is going fine. Josh has already set up two games that are not test games and are not helping me in any way. The second of these games almost brought the entire system down. As a result, it is not currently possible for anyone to set up another WoK-On game until I am able to devote enough time to keeping them running smoothly, ie my exams are over.

Sorry for any inconvenience.

Ah. I'm sorry to hear that... didn't realize it had caused such problems. No wonder he got yelled at. :D Good luck on those exams.

if the game would ever be created, would it be allowed for one of my clanmates to send orders in for me while I'm on vacation?

Substitutes are on the list of things to do. As things stand, your clan mate would have use the old style AOF sender and the GM could then enter the orders, so it's a GM discretion thing.

Substitutes will not be hard though. If Josh can restrain his enthusiasm this will be possible.

I didn't really mean technical, I meant would it be allowed for someone to take over who's not a beginner? Since they're no other beginners I can bring up in TFF...
