Game Interests?

Post by Donut » Wed Mar 17, 2004 9:03 pm

My 1st group will be coming to a close in about a week or so... so, I was thinking about what game I should open up. Obviously if I open a normal WOK5 game, it'll probably fill within days if not hours. But I've noticed that there aren't too many WOK4 games running right now. Here's some ideas I had for games:
  • WOK4 Beginner/Advanced Game: A clan sends a beginner and an advanced player into this game. The goal here is to give 5 clans a hands-on chance to teach a new player the game. I'd give preference to beginners who haven't played a game, or are only in 1 other game. I'd leave it up to the clan to chose a player as the "Teacher."

WOK5 "Siege" Game: Each player starts with a city that has the max DEF, and 3 surrounding Provinces. The surrounding provinces would have 5-lvl 1.000 armies and the City the Normal starting armies. The goal is to take another players city... so the "No Player Without a City" rule would be used. Headhunting would be defined in this game as taking another players City, and would not be allowed. Attacking the surrounding provinces would be allowed.

WOK5/WOK4 No GCA/MIS Game: Back to the stone age. No missiles or GCA's. Brute force using armies. I would set the number of GCA's each player owns at the beginning of every turn to 0.

WOK4 Speed Game(Of a different sort): This would be a game that would last only 8-10 turns long (Set at the beginning of the game). The score leader at the end would get the VP's. The point is to make players fight instantly, I'm not sure on the length of the game though; 8-10 turns may be too long. ;)

    Normal WOK4

    Normal WOK5
I'm kinda partial to the Beginner/Advanced game, or the Seige game. I would also prefer to open up a list to beginners, if there's enough to fill a game. I'd also be willing to open another WOK5 Beginner game. I guess it's just what everyone else wants. Let me know.

I don't know about that. Nicks game took 2 weeks to fill. Mikes has been open as long and still hasn't filled. :(

Otherwise, how about "Siege".

Well i would like the no missiles wok 4 game. :D

However my own WOK 4 game has only had 3-4 applications so far and my 'beginner' game only filled after i let some non beginners in. So it seems that there isn't a lot of need for any games at the moment.

I'd like to try my hand at the siege game or even the NO Missiles game of Wok 4, so it'd be like RISK!!!! Ahh the good old days...

Well, I think Saladin is half right .......I think the demand for games is there, just not for X-games or beginner games. How many true beginners do we have now? Every normal WOK 4 game lately has fill extremely fast. The WOK 5 games are filling slower, but there were two opened at around the same time (and one is using what some think is a sucky map).
And as Saladin said, his X-game has been stuck for some time waiting for players to join.

Well Donut, if you start another wok 4 game i will join for sure...and especially if it's an X-game...standard games are rather boring. :?

Donut,
An advanced WOK 4 game would be great. I think you could fill it up in a hurry. I would definately be interrested in joining one.
