Well seeing that the vets (read Eg and Saladin) had an absolutely crappy starting position and OoP i'd say it's 1-0 to the vets after the first round. :)

Zed got put in his place by Egbert...Mullog's got hit very hard (64% eff after round one :P) and Ja'Ded failed to take advantage from the lucky OoP so that leaves Saladin at full strength. :)

With Raw, Trewqh and Mylantis all taking 3 neutrals the vets are looking strong! :)

Let's see what happens this next round!

I'll give it to you. But that's why your the vets here. You have the experience and knowledge to know what is the best move in certain circumstances. I for one have already picked up some new knowledge that I have filed away for future games.
It's forced down a newbies throat to take three neutrals on thier first turn but, as proven in this game, if you have bad postitioning in the beginning game it may be to your advantage to just take one, save your armies and pile up for next turn.
I agree, 1-0 vets. But it's not over yet. One battle down more to follow.

Well you can only convert 144 pop on turn one in to arms so two provinces will normally give you those pop...so two additional provinces is nice...but not 100% necessary to still be able to kick some buttocks. :P

Now, where did you get that from? You are not the only ones with spies you know. And our total score is higher than yours! 8)

But with that said, I'm not feeling so confident about the next few turns....

The fact of the matter is that I made shure that you did not go down if you had you would have been hit. If I had tried to take 49 after taking a neutral I might have shared the same fate as Zed. I did not make a mastake.

Sal, you are mathmatically correct but the trick is to have those 144 in the right provinces to begin with. you have to make your transformations before you can move pop around so you don't have the chance to set them up beforehand and I would be willing to guess that you cannot actually make 36 new armies on turn 1 by only taking 1 province unless your starting province had enough pop for 2 full conversions to begin with.
This is possible with some maps in certtain provinces but it isn't a given. That said, I haven't played on that map, and have no idea what the starting pop levels are. Since it was an Ingrid map, I believe, I think she was pretty forgiving with the pop values for the most part.

Try doing that on the 2 origional maps when you start in one of those provinces that only have 49 pop to start the game.

After a little research I have found that the most stingy maps are Goatherders maps. I actually found a province or 2 in his maps that start with 40 pop.
Now that is being stingy,

Sorry Mullog, but it didn't take me long to convince the other players that you were our most feared opponent, being TKG and all...so you had to go first. :)

Boy Ja'Ded:

Code: Select all

#ID NAME POP WOK AIM ARM LEVEL DEF MI SP
===========================================================
52 Bruck 0 102 +SPY 0 1.000 0.6 0 12
45 Hainburg 74 29 +MIS 12 1.000 1.6 7 3

Good show Vets. Proving for the second turn why you are the Vets and we are the newbies. :(
However we will learn and fight on getting better and more crafty all the time. Don't get overconfident on us though. 8)

I'm just wondering why Zed didn't help Mullog to double team Egbert? Not that we're complaining...it just puzzles me. :?:

Lol, it's quite fun to see my still large army grow to level 1.640 just from attacking and taking some provinces. :D

I'm just wondering why Zed didn't help Mullog to double team Egbert? Not that we're complaining...it just puzzles me.
The reason that Zed didn't help Mullog was because of inexperience with the game and sending in orders. I believe on the first turn he didn't understand the conversion factor and on the second turn it seems that he converted to Workers, instead of Armies ( a 2 instead of a 3).

Don't think we've given up yet though. At least 1 of you will perish... :shakin::
