I think the idea of a standard quiz on a regular basis sounds like a great idea. But, I would not want to see it add to the same score that players get for placing in games.

I would rather it give you more forum-activity points (or whatever they're called) which could be spent at the Kaomaris Shop.

I'll second Bryk's idea. I'd like to keep the victory points "pure," but I do like the idea of a quiz.

Agree with the other posts. I would like to keep win points seperate but a good idea for shop points.

One cutesy idea (that we used to do at my local) is that whovever wins the quiz has to do the questions for the next one.
Question everything.

Ways to increase participation points would be fun. This could even turn into the rebirth of the WoK Quizzer! :P (How many people even remember that now?)

What happens in a tie?

Also, I don't think you can force people to write the quiz if they're only every year.

What might be fun is if people pay some participation points to enter the quiz and get points back depending on how many right answers they give.
We could then give whoever made the quiz some bonus participation points as a reward. This could then become a semi regular thing, instead of just once a year.

well i was going with the idea of points per correct answer any way.

with the idea about semi yearly or whatever i could go with that but what we found to put in our 20 questions every 3 months. With the rate turns and games run and how long it is between ideas maybe 6 monthly would be better.

1. The question is misleading. I think we agreed that the quiz should not be for game points so even the votes that are currently counted as 'No' may actually be in favour of the quiz.

2. The turnout reflects to some degree how many people would be interested in taking part in the quiz.

I think a quiz is a fun idea.

Enough banter about the rules and rewards! Here's a starter question, of the kind that Korexus tends to get first:

Q1. What is the link between Trewqh and Zero Mostel? (Go, Chris!)

BTW, Trewqh is not allowed to answer.

Both had polish mothers.
Both thought of as a "Zero".
Both supspected of being communists. (All I have to do is think "Is trewqh a communist and this becomes true...)

Nah, too obvious.

How about, Mostel was a guest on "the Muppets" and trewqh looks like Kermit the Frog.

Nope. Nothing so "private-life" as that. When I give the "answer", I think half of you will say "Oh yes!". I'll wait a bit longer before producing some kind of clue.

trewqh, don't tell us the answer, but do you know? Maybe you've never heard of Zero Mostel ...

right well i have a quiz ready and everyone has 2 weeks to say if they want to be given the quiz.

i am still deciding prizes, the more people enter the better the prizes and even last place will get a small prize but that prize will be better with the number of peole taking part.

my not so secret project finally finished.
