Hiya, could you ask him to pick a name that is easier to remember, use and get shortened? Otherwise he'll tend to be known as mrf for the whole of his WOK career.... Prferably something in character (or invented) for heroic battling, being called out on a challenge etc. "Hey, Lord mrf ......". And I wish him good luck and enjoyment.

T, sorry I mean "t", you realise we'd end up shortening that to Mr.F ... even worse than mrf ?! Me, I like a bit of character in names since we'll be referring to each other so often, eg Saladin, Egbert, Xarfei, Donut, Yondallus, Vortan, Tigress. Not so much iecdms or mrfighter. Keeps the flavour better. IMHO.

Good grief.
What you guys aiming to do now? Censor newbees if they can't think of a good name? GET A LIFE FOR GOODNESS SAKE! Surely provided its not offensive it makes little difference.
Why could Mrfighter not be shortened (if your really that lazy) to Mf although this really is taking idleness to a new height. A name is a name. Leave the POTENTIAL newbee alone. Start attacking their name choice and you will make them feel REALLY welcome .... NOT.
NUFF SAID.
Now WHY did it do THAT!

Sounds like they just like nicknames. Shortening the names have nothing to do with saving time. After all, how many of you on here are forum trolls who have disgracefully thrown all your grammar and spelling knowledge out the window in exchange for looking like a moronic 5 year old with down syndrome? Didn't think so.
Oh, salutations, by the way.

Welcome Celerian! It's always good to see new players join.
So can you tell us a little something about yourself? Where are you from? How did you discover Kaomaris?
Thanks!

Wow, Vortan, you really try hard to pick an argument! OK, I give in. Have it your way.
I certainly wasn't censoring. I've known people say "If when I signed up I'd realised that I'd be stuck with whatever I put in then, I'd never have chosen dhsmith83, cos 'Lord dhsmith83' doesn't sound as cool as Lord Vortan or even Lord Donut when you're mailing each other in character". It was supposed to HELP the guy enjoy it and get into the spirit, not censor his choice. He might even thank me a year or two from now.
But I withdraw the suggestion. mrfighter is fine.
Hryll, I chose "Hannibal" because it had a built-in excuse for losing ... the Carthaginian who crossed the alps to attack Rome. Kinda: heroic try, nearly won, lost but admired for trying. Hannibal lost. Lowering expectations. Romantic.
But that screams for the question: how did you choose your name, Hill-and-tree?
Han Peace to all.

You remember me saying that?! Heck, I'd forgotten that myself till you mentioned it. Ta.trewqh wrote:And there's the other part of the story where you choose Hannibal rather than Titanic, exactly because of the shortening tendency in Kaomaris.

Hey, Lord Vortan. sorry. Half the time you're teasingly ironic and half the time you're seriously furious. dangnabbit if I can spot them apart. Were you being ironic with Dukie?Vortan wrote:
Han. You taking me too seriously again?
Shame.
