The list on the left never tallies with the list at the bottom. Why is that? For example I can see 9 registered users and one guest on the left but the bottom list says 5 registered and zero guests.

The list on the left takes a longer time span into account. The list at the bottom tells you of players active within the last couple of minutes.
And it reached 6 twice today.

More than that, the list on the left is people logged into the site, the list at the bottom is people browsing the forums. So to be on the left you could be looking at a game, in the chat room or just have left a window open on the kaomaris website. To be at the bottom, you must have clicked a link in the forums in the last 5 minutes.

I mean the boards not the whole site. 8 users with the same 5 minutes. It's been at 6 since 2004.
