If you had an old subscription, the money was going to Al. About a month ago updated the site's paypal details, if you want to continue supporting WoK then you can set up a new subscription - going to me! :D

Coolio, I will sort that out. Does Al have anything at all to do with wok now? Does he have ownership of the game and stuff?

Although we consider him the "Father of Kaomaris," I am pretty sure he does not have a copyright or trademark on the game (at least not in the US).

You should check a turn report at some point...

(c) and (t) Al Gassner 1999-2004

Now, I have no idea if he updated it after that, but Al certainly used to have copyright AND trademark on WoK...

Wooot :P

Hey peeps, I just got a bill over $179.40 for another year of hosting this site so I thought I pop in and say hello hehe :D Good to see all these familiar faces still around !

Now the bad news:
Just checked my PayPal account: I got a total of 10 $5 subscriptions last year (thats about $45 net). That leaves about $130 to me, an investment Im not really willing to make any longer considering I went to new shores about two years ago.

I could run after the creditcard payment and cancel it or ask the payment processing company to refund etc. etc. or you guys find a way to raise the cash and send me through Paypal (I still use alex.gassner@chello.at there).

If I dont hear from you soon Chris (please email me as well) Im gonna have to go and get that payment refunded. That would mean this site turns dark quite soon as the payment is due right NOW.

Help me out on this. WOK is still my baby somehow and I dont wanna see it dissapear from the net like this. Hosting is fine as it is, but please understand I cant finance this on my own (and I have a few other sites to manage, and money is tight atm).

Hope to hear from you soon. Keep up the good work peeps.

Chris, let me know if you need anything. I know there was a thread a while back talking about this, but I don't think it ever gave a tally.

Hmm, lets not join the dark side... how are the financials being done? Every member pays $x/year or so?

How bizarre that I raised this the other day eh? I was certainly paying $5 a month last year thru paypal but looks like I was the only one. Essentially the game has always been free to play just funded by contributions. I know that Korexus has posted new paypal details so maybe he is getting some cash that can pay for this. I guess this needs sorting out pretty quickly, I am prepared to donate a lump sum so lets just see what we can riase between us.

Acutally, the game has always been free and relied on the creator's financial willingness to keep it that way plus voluntary donations from players.

PayPal has finally become available in Poland, but they don't accept payments from regular bank accounts :? To use it in Poland you have to have a Visa or Mastercard credit card, which I don't have.

I am willing to donate money, anyhow, can anyone suggest a solution?

Hello again,

the yearly recurring has been stopped now (meaning that from next january on I wont get charged anymore). I suggest Chris emails me (I got a new PC last week and all email contacts have kinda evaporated) and I will give him a contact person at MBSHost so you guys can strike a deal for future payments and hosting.

No idea what will happen with the current payment for 2007 right now. MBSHost is usually lazy in treating those things. If they dont refund me (which I think will happen) I would welcome any donations to help me get the missing $130 for 2007 back.

Ill keep you posted.

- AL

Al, I paid for a year's subscription at the end of November/beginning of December last year. So GET THAT MONEY BACK!!!!

I still have all the relavent emails if you need them.

I also asked them to switch the details over to me, so you shouldn't have got anything from them...

I'm still hoping that Korexus will let us/me know what the financial situation is for this year?

I've never been in a position to contribute monetarily before... now seems as good a time as any.
