Hi all!
I've noticed it's been kind of slow lately so I tried to get some people in the game

I think one is signing up right now. Maybe more will follow

So I thought I'd post this topic to ask which clans are currently recruiting and maybe if someone could open a new game, would be nice too.
and it's good to be back

And BoV thanks for Hryllantre but for some reason I can't find him in the lobby to make him a member there.

Hmm, he has a user account; Get him to apply to your clan. That should create a profile automagically.

Hmm, yeah I kind of thought that's what he had done since I got an e-mail from the
clanmanager@kaomaris.com ... or ...?

I fell into that trap to Fredo.
Go to the lobby and click on the Clan.....flik
Then accept him as a member of your clan.

OK why is everyone telling to do stuff I've allready done and is not working and being all smirk about it?
If I go to Standard WOK / Standard WOK lobby / Clans / Clan membership his name is not to be found.
If I didn't know how to get there I wouldn't have brought this thing up on the boards I tell you.
Anyway ....

Ok, I'm not entirely sure what happened, if you forward me the email I can work it out. However, here is a guess:
Hryllantre applied to your clan before making a profile or while not logged in. This would explain why he doesn't have a profile in the Lobby and why a blank player does.
Ask him to log in to the site and click on the clan apply button for your clan. This will create a profile for him in the Lobby. It does, I just tested it...
After this, he should appear on the list of people waiting to join BoV and you will be able to accept him.

Thanks all,
I am now showing as being a member of BoV which I thought would automatically allow me access to the new Cross Islands game, it does not!?! I would like to join this game to gather xperience for myself and ofc assist BoV.
Just so you know of my actions to date.... I pressed the Join Game button alas to no visible result so I pressed it again uh uh... At this time there are only 2 spots left to before the game is full....
On a different note this game is difficult (imho) to negotiate for a new player as there is no comformation of actions, this makes even the basic actions seem complicated as we (the gamer) have no idea whether our actions have been registered or not...
I am an active xperienced online gamer but alas with no knowledge of programming (nor the desire to learn), I seek new games and enjoy the learning process within them... I wil be constructive with all my posts as I have been with each game that I have joined...
Cheers for your time

I have just caught up with my emails and have discovered an email from GM Chris.
All is fine and dandy now and I will wait for the next game to start up...

Pressing a button in the lobby usually sends an email to someone. Usually it's to me or the GM of a game. When I'm running the game, it's almost certainly to me. (Or the WoK database if it's something boring)
There are two options for confirmations, one we could include an onscreen message saying something has been sent. The downside to this is that it is stateless so it can't be retreived later. The other is that a copy of the email is also sent to you, the button pusher. This is nice except that (case in point) people tend to carry on pushing buttons instead of checking their email accounts. Now I suppose I could do both but I'll need those three people telling me to do so first...
Thoughts?

My thought is that H-man should sign up to my open group and put his money where his mouth is.

A confirmation *can* be stateless ... simply there to be helpful to the user and not needing to be logged or retrieved in any way later. And it gives the user immediate understanding that the button-push did result in something.

I agree with Bryk (that's always the savest way to go).

Dare I ... ?
Yes, I agree with Bryk and Sal, instant confirmation is allways a good thing.

OK, I just went to do this and it had already been done. Either I got drunker than I thought over the weekend or Rune did some work without telling me.
Regardless, you now get a CC of the application email and an on screen notification that you have applied. I also added this feature to the 'send GM message' option. Just to make myself feel worthwhile...
