The Worlds of Kaomaris

The next step in my ceaseless quest to avoid thinking about my exams has been the integration of clans into the Lobby.

If you look at the Lobby no, you will see two "tabs" at the top, one labelled games and the other labelled clans. I'm sure you can work out what they do. (Side note, the images are pretty crappy. If anyone less artistically challanged than me wants to design some, feel free!)

So far, most members will just see a list of the active clans of Kaomaris, clicking on one will show a list of members of the clan, a link to the website and the email address of the clan head. Clan heads also have the option to write some information about their clan (most html tags included, but not brackets for some reason...) and to upload a clan image. Keep 'em fairly small please folks, we don't have unlimited space! If you want a bigger, flashier banner you can link to an off site image, so hopefully everyone will be happy.

Next steps: Allowing clan heads, to accept new applicants, boot out current members and pass the leadership. Allowing members to leave a clan and apply to another one.

As always, feedback is appreciated. Also, if anyone can think of a better blurb or find a better picture for the Mercs let me know. just entered stuff because they don't have a head of thier own...

Appologies to any clan heads who got spammed by clan applications in the last 15 minutes or so. I've fixed the error now, it shouldn't happen again!

Players can now apply to clans, go mercanary and apply to other clans.
Clan Heads can accept or reject those players.
Clan Heads can kick out members, make another player clan head and disband the clan entirely.

Next Step: Player Stats.

I'm on the Merc page too... and here all this time I thought I was BOT.

I didn't think noobs like myself could go Merc ... although I prefer my clan, tyvm.

I'm tempted to "Click Below to leave Mercenary and become a Mercenary" just to see what happens. But I'm not sure what headaches that would cause you and I wouldn't want to make extra work for you.

Bryk, Fredo, Xech, korexus (!) you've all been set to your correct clans.

Xech, good catch on the mercenary bit, Mercs are set up as a clan and I forgot to exclude them from the join/leave option. For the record, leaving mercs to become merc wouldn't have done anything but a non-merc applying to join might have messed stuff up...

As Donut says, WoK-On is ready for it's first real (for VPs) test. I've asked GM Taker to run his missilemania game through WoK-On. If the players are up for it then we'll be ready to, umm, Wok.

Any BoT players who aren't listed (almost all of you) this is because Yarosund never gave me a list of names and I haven't yet resorted to checking Donut's list. Maybe I should do that now...

As far as I know I am still a member of Valn Ohtar.

When I go into the lobby the ttile says welome aussie gaz of Valn Ohtar but I am not listed on the clan page (probably not on the main clan page either).

I have 13 vp's (from memory) and 1.5 of those from playing in VO.

Fixed. Surprising that it spotted your clan on the welcome, but I'd registered you as Merc...

I am put down as a Merc as well. Sneak me into the Scholars if you can. Otherwise put me in VO. (which is the clan I actually belong to)

Uhmm...uhmmm...I am a member of TFF, not a Merc.

If you could change that for me I would appreciate it.


It shows me in the list of Merc, not in TFF list.

When I originally logged in and clicked lobby, it said Welcome Allister of TFF, but when I relogged in again it now says Allister the Merc.....?

The leave clan option was being run every time a player looked at his clan. I've stopped that happening now and will reset people this evening hopefully.

As for applying, probably you put something in the text field that wasn't allowed. Most likely a bracket. I'll have a look at that too.

Just kidding Kor, good job in setting this whole thing up, you are quite a guy, being able to get this all straight and fixed.
