Well, since you're "very" enthusiastic about GM'ing the game, I guess you can have it ... I was only "somewhat" enthusiastic about it. ;) I do have a recommendation as to the map, if you'd like it -- send me an e-mail if you want on that front.

Otherwise, have fun running the game ... and I hope the combatants have a good time as well.

Vets... i'd play if you'd let me... besides, honor is all i'm ever playing for now a days. Just let me know when you can. ecrivian@email.com

Including Ec, we also have 5 players.

Validon, how about you pick the GM and we pick the map? :P

Hmm...well maybe veteran is not the right word...let's try the word ELITE. :P

So does that mean you'll join as well Eg? :)
I don't think that a Newbie v. Vets game should award any VPs, unless the GM gave some advantage to the Newbies or some disadvantage to the Vets.
Well we could make it interesting...only the newbies can win vps, one for each surviving players...that might stop them from running away screaming after three turns. :P
Also, as a side note, you can't really count Saladin as a Newbie in GM Fredrick's civil war game, since he had access to the Scholars' Library. :book: And that's all you really need to win a game.
So true...so true. :)

Sure, I'm not elite. But we were talking about a vets vs. newbies match from the very beginning. :P

Yeah, i remember long discussion about the way to play with TBert as i would have prefered a more defensive play...but with Smashie amazing skills at ripping players we got a bit (very) lucky on the first round and managed to keep that momentum. Although Duke had me worried with his big higher level army...good thing that i had slept for a little while as well. :P

I also agree about the map...it was the best thought out game/map i've played in so far.

PS: Thanks for GM-ing the game Bryk! :D

So it's:

Raw
Saladin
Trewqh
Egbert
Mylantis for the vets.

Hehe...well if Eg stays awake this game we should be able to win. :P

Well Eg is old, but the rest of us still fairly young (though i feel old).

BTW Funty/Bryk, please don't use a 3-d map or something too complicated...it takes away from the fun. :)

I would be happy with either GM and I think that we should let the GM pick the map.
Looks like we have a game. From Matt's post I believe that Funtastick will be the GM. Is this how we all see it? If so, I will contact the newbie team and we will get all our info to him so we can get this show on the road. I will wait for confirmation that this GM is satisfactoy to the Vets before moving forward. 8)

Sal,

Your line up looks good to me. I don't know where Ecrivian got the idea that he was a veteran. I would think that you would have to accomplish at least one thing before you can take that as a title.

So for GM Andy or GM Matt, whoever is kind enough to run the game....

Vets = Raw, Saladin, Trewqh, Egbert, Mylantis
Babies = Zed, Mullog, Donut, Ja'Dad, Validon

Cheers,
Raw

I strongly urge both GMs to run a game if possible. I have another newbie waiting in line, and Im sure some mixed Beginner/Advanced WOK4 game would be welcomed by many Players.

Thx everyone !

Raw.... although I've never come out on top of the war I have won some key battles to gain my allies victories... besides... the war always has to have its first casualties. Ask Smashy about GM Larry's 10, we were teaming up against three other players, and Gorzag had the most amazing comeback ever, you couldn't kill the stinking little creep... Also in the Europe game, not sure who GM'd it but the CoN duo of Nemesis and Nestalawe were truly helped out by me choosing to stay neutral between an Ar-Sereg vs. CoN battle which sprung them for a shared victory, also Ask Raven about how quickly he was excused from that game. Also in GM Henri's Europe battle I took out/was the largest pain in Baron Roland's Arse, and he was the largest pain in mine, seeing no clear way of coming out ahead, I simply chose a target next to an ally and did the most amount of damage I could, didn't really help my ally too much, but it made sure that VP's were not going to be won by BR. So as I may not have anything other than trusted Allies to show from my playing, and a poor record of M-3's, I am someone who can get the hardest part of the job done.

Ecrivian

ps, no offense to the vets... but if I'm gonna be a spectator... GO NOOBS!

Ec,

That's another reason I really didn't want you on the team. You show up for 1 or 2 turns then all the sudden fall off the face of the earth. Didn't some GM do this, can't really remember his name, but I think it was Seth or something like that?

Cheers,

Ah yes, Larry's 10...wasn't that the game where you actually had a good position halfway through the game and when Gorzag started his attack you dissapeared? :)

Not that it mattered...made things easier for Smashie and me. :D

Haven't heard any comments yet about giving the babies one vp each should they win and survive?

Andy can run the Vets/Noobs game ... I'll be opening another WOK4 game in a few days (please, no e-mails until the game is posted in the KAObase) ... it will be labelled "advanced", but we all know that new folks can join those as well.

Vp or not VP

Post by Validon » Wed Oct 22, 2003 2:21 pm

I'm willing to stay on even grounds with the codgers. No VP's either way. Nothing to play for except a little pride.

If, in fact, both GM's want to run a game such as this one I can think of three newbies off the top of my head that would probably be interrested in playing. Ja'Jang,Hannibal, and Captus. I'm sure that there are a couple more out there as well. It also seems that the Vets are lining up to kick some newbie butt. So my thought is, why don't we let GM_Andy run this game and if GM_Matt is for it he can run the other game. That way Funtastick can get in on the newbie bashing as well.

Funtastick as GM work for you Vets/Codgers? Us Newbies/Babies are good with it? Raw, if you're in agreement we will get this game moving.
