And just so I can usurp some of Al's authority. I'll carry on running turns manually myself, until I go to bed. Just because I can.

By my calculations we should be on turn 301 now and 312 runs at 3:00 am GMT am I right, someone shout up if I'm not.

Did food grow this cycle? It doesn't look like it to me but maybe it's just me?

AL,
We [glow=red]BROKE[/glow] your game. It absolutely REFUSES to finish running turn 96.
so it keeps running it OVER and OVER. It doesn't want to calculate scores so it wont trip over to the next turn.

By the time you see this EVERYONE will be [glow=darkred]infertile and starving[/glow].
There's no need to fear...........

Yeah UD summed it up nicely. My fertility is now 1% (I wonder if it can drop lower?) and I do believe I am going to starve to death quite shortly- my white bear just isn't going to make it! Oh, the humanity! :shock:

Another restart it is then.

Al has set up WoK Species group 5, EVERGLADES. In my never ending quest to take control of all Kaomaris, I have updated the players' page of kaobase2 so you can all sign up for it. If you get an error after trying to join, it's not proof of my uselessness, honest! You will be signed up, even with the error.

Appologies for yet another restart, but at least two thirds of the players lost all their fertillity, all their saturation and a hefty chunk of instinct last night so if the test is going to be worth anything we need to.

BUG report:

After the 'Repeat action' is changed into radio buttons there is a wrong value for x5. As I understood value = <number of repetitions> - 1 (which is IMHO a strange way to code), so the x5 should have a value of 4. It's current 5 and if you tr to use it you get 6 repetitions for chosen action...

I know there is a time til next move but is there any chance we can get a count-down timer on the page some time?

Like count-down until next turn runs or something.

@Hamster: true, I have this on my list as well
@Allister: yes, timers are in the pipeline. Again its all a matter to keep loading times low, so you might just see some very basic "timer". Maybe well also add a "refresh" button or allow auto-refreshs of the page.

Latest changes:
* better hiscore formula
* new player-vs-player (PvP) combat formula
* players can change password in K2
* species can get extinct
* fertility capped at 50%

Engine should be doing fine now *crosses fingers*, please bare with us and sign up for EVERGLADES.

I just tried to sign up for Everglades. I picked out my species and then got this:

Notice: Undefined variable: NumDBOps in /home/kaomaris/public_html/kaobase2/Classes/ClassDBConnected.php on line 42

Notice: Undefined variable: NumDBOps in /home/kaomaris/public_html/kaobase2/Classes/ClassDBConnected.php on line 53

What should I do now?

btw, the countdown timer is a good idea, AF.

EDIT: Apparently, the game signed me up. But those messages were scary.

Just go back on the page where you clicked to join the game and now on the right side you will see 3 games and can enter EVERGLADES with no further problems.

Happened to me too.

You guys are so understanding! :D

The reason the Outback jungle died was an upgrade I did to the main game engine (the program that processes all orders and logs all events). I had made some changes making it easier to upgrade and enhance the engine. Unfortunately this introduced a bug that only appeared when someone had unchecked the "Allow mutations" box.
I did alot of testing on my new code, but I had not tested this particular situation.

The code should work fine now, and I promise not to do any changes that will affect this game before I have tested it even more thorougly.

EG: The warnings were due to an update to the database funcitons. They did not affect your signup in any way and should be gone now.

OK is this a bug or does something affect how fast your plants grow.

Last game my plant growth was better than this game.

I don't know if it has to do with the terrain ar if it is the color of the plant but last game my plants grew ALOT better than they are this time around

Well, this game my plants grew much better than they did last game... But I still only gained 200 plants. I didn't hunt at all during the first cycle, but this plant growth rate will only sustain me for a cycle, maybe 2...

Maybe that's the plan but I thought Al said that there wouldn't be any scavaging for plants as there is in WOK5. Any hints?

Those numbers do look believable, hard to be sure without knowing the details though.

To kick start the information exchange, here is what happened in my square.

Plants at the end of previous cycle: 700.
Plants at start of new cycle: 1050.
Numerical growth: 350.
Percentage growth: 50%.
Plant colour: White.
Terrain type: Forest.

Anyone else care to share?
