To make a little correction to both Fredo and Al ...

First, Arnie is very liberal on social issues -- his conservatism seems to be primarily point at fiscal issues. He was considered a liberal Republican by those in his own party, and a moderate/centrist by others. You may have noticed that 30+ percent of Democrats voted for him, and almost 20 percent of Republicans voted for someone else.

Second, he *is* a supporter of "W" ... and has already stated that he will assist in Bush's Presidential election. Not sure where Al got that "Bush hates him" ... unless he was just looking for something to throw at Sal.

I figured some well informed american would correct my post actually which is completely in order. I am aware that political analysts consider Schwarzenegger to be a "liberal" Republican. In my world that's still pretty darn right wing.
In any case it is sure going to be interesting to see how he plans to solve one of the oldest riddles in the world, to increase your spendings while you decrease your income.

Lol, in my book most leftist Democrats are still far right wing...though sadly that starts to acount for more and more of the Dutch politicians as well...before you know it i'll be forced to move to Germany!

Arnold HAS to be socially liberal or he won't last long in California at all. Now that we know how easy it is to recall a governor out here, the first time Arnold does something socially conservative all those 30+% of Dems will turn on him faster than you can say "I'll be back!". Arnie could really run in either party- and for that matter, so could Gen. Clark, who recentely announced for the Dems. Bush's popularity is sinking fast with the mess in Iraq and the economy in the tank. Essentially, Davis got blamed for the bad economy, and I think you will see the same thing happen to Busy in 04. The difference being Bush actually IS at fault for the crappy economy to some extent, and for the Iraq mess to a much larger extent. Davis was just a victim of recall laws that are far to broad and a bad economy which he contributed to in part, but can hardly be blamed for.
