TBert Reproduces, The World Weeps

Post by TBert » Sun Jul 01, 2007 7:10 am

So as a few of you may have noticed in my various commentaries, my wife went into labor on Thursday night. She delivered our baby girl Friday at 12:48 pm, and we returned to our abode on Saturday evening.

I will spare you all the philosophical meanderings of a new father (Should I buy a shotgun when she's 10, or when she's 12?) and simply say that birth is a messy, but rewarding process. I was actually assisting, with the midwife grabbing my hands and helping me drag said baby out and up into the world. No I didn't pass out or get nauseous, even though if you detach yourself from the moment, it's pretty gross.

Anyways, the aforementioned baby was named Arianna Natalie Tabbert, and she has since turned from a tiny, purple, slimy, snake-like thing into a small, pink, screaming and flailing ball of fun. She gets everything good about her from her Father, and of course all the bad genes came from her Mother. I wouldn't admit it was any other way.

Pictures will be forthcoming, but aren't up yet. Yes, I know, if I owned a digital camera I could take all the pictures I want, but don't mention that. My digital camera, and both iPods, have been stolen in the last 6 months. Sensitive subject. And if anyone's wondering why I sound so new to birth when I already had 2 kids, the first two are from Wifey's previous marriage.

:D

Congratulations TB: You were lucky(ish), when Dragonette was born it was by section and I had to pace around in another room fretting. Enjoy!

Oh, and tell wifey it's about time too - talk about hanging it out.
Now WHY did it do THAT!

When Tilda (my youngest) was born it was also by section but I was in the same room standing by my wifes head. Me. I felt like I was about to pass out like a thousend times and focused real hard not to see anything I didnt want to see.

By the door to the OR there were about five pair of REALLY tall rainboots (or what the english name for it is). I wonder what type of operations they do when they put those on.

Congratulations Tbert! Another Tabbertess! And what a beautiful name Arianna is!

I hope your wife's doing well and both of you get to enjoy these coming weeks to the max.

Congratulations!

The actually let you pull her out? That is ... not very common, is it?

Anyway. Save the shotgun until she's fifteen. That is when the bachelors show up :)

Hey Mullog

15 ? Here in the UK by 15 around 40% are experienced. Its a parents nightmare. If you don't worry before 15 you are lucky. Three years less stress.
Now WHY did it do THAT!

Well, my oldest isn't four yet, but she is already looking at guys. Maybe I should go shotgun-shopping asap?

I've got.... a baby.... sleeping on my.... chest. If I don't move... she won't fall off...and I can use both hands to play WOK. Just you guys... wait... she'll be a little steamrolling... hellion... in a few years.
