Having just been to my dentist for upper right 4 extracting I can honestly say .... ARGH! THAT HURTS! I dont mind the time it's being pulled out. I don't even mind the pain afterwards. It's the F... err ... Flippin' injections. Talk about PAIN. Even the vasectomy wasn't that bad
And anyone (DUKE for example) wishing to take the mickey please do so by PM so no one is offended by my replies
So, my words of wisdom for the end of June 2007 ... If you are thinking about having a tooth out DON'T.

Hehe...4 at once...ouch!
You know what's also fun. Having a quite painful root canal done taking about 70 minutes. Then going home and in the evening eating a sandwhich and breaking that very tooth, so it had to be extracted as well and a bridge put in. Stupid bridge, costs more than a car!

I feel for you Gentlemen. Two wisdom teeth are scheduled for extraction July 9. I hope the dentist gives me some "good" meds!

Not 4 at once, number 4 top right side. Blimey, the thought of having 4 out at once makes me feel quite unwell!
Still, this wasn't as bad as the 45 minute, two dentist wisdom tooth... now THAT really was most unpleasant.

*peeks in*
Did someone mock me?
Well, I had one removed a while back and that was horrible. Women keeps nagging about giving birth but I would easily rather squeeze out a *AS A MODERATOR I AM CENSORING MYSELF* through m..*AGAIN, MODERATING* 'cos nothing could hurt that *WORD REMOVED* bad.

One and a half hours after treatment and the meds are starting to wear off ... Vortan heading for packet of painkiller exits stage right

Did your dentist also give you a syringe and tell you to use it to spray salted water in the wound? If so...DON'T DO IT! I'm sure they heard my scream 10 miles away.

No, thank goodness but I do know with almost 100% certainty that I will have a dental abcess withing the week. I have Anti-biotic cover (3g Amoxcillin) before hand and I STILL get infections. Bloomin' genetics.

What's wrong with you lot.
My wife had 18 teeth removed and it didn't hurt me a bit.

I had all 4 wisdom teeth extracted in 1 "sitting" back about 17 years ago. They kindly put me "under" for the procedure, since 2 of them were nicely tucked under other teeth.
I had no problems, really ... got sleepy ... then woke up when they were done. The pain wasn't much fun, but ice + drugs + lying around watching ballgames on TV made things go by pretty well. I used a syringe with warm water (no salt) to care for the sites ... and that wasn't too bad.
However, the paper work I needed to fill out a couple of weeks later in regards to a drug test at work was a bit more of a pain.

lol!! Great one AG!
17 years ago? I remember a time in WOK when 17 was about the average age for a member
What is that over there in the corner? Did Calidus forget his cane again?

I was old back then too. Now I'm older.
(I think I even have a few years on Calidus.

Thought said oldies might find this entertaining. Should be in poetry corner but there you go ... its a mixed up world.
I'm Fine Thank You.
There's nothing the matter with me
I'm as healthy as can be,
I have arthritis in my knees
And when I talk, I talk with a wheeze.
My pulse is weak and my blood is thin
But I,m awfully well for the shape I'm in
Arch supports I have for my feet,
Or I wouldn't be able to be on the street.
Sleep is denied me night after night,
But every morning I find I'm up all right
My memory is failing, my heads in a spin
But I'm awfully well for the shape I'm in
The moral of this, as my tale I unfold
That for you and for me who are growing old
It's better to say "I'm fine" with a grin
Than to let folks know the shape we are in
How do I know my youth is all spent?
Well. "my get up and go", got up and went
But I really don't mind when I think with a grin
Of all of the places my "get up" has bin
Old age is golden, I've heard it said
But sometimes I wonder as I get into bed
With my ears in the drawer, my teeth in a cup
My eyes on the table until I wake up
Ere sleep overtakes me, I say to myself
"Is there anything else I could lay on the shelf?"
When I was young my slippers were red
I could kick my heels over my head
When I got older my slippers were blue
But still I could dance the whole night through
Now I am old my slippers are black
I walk to the shops and puff my way back.
I get up each morning and dust of my wits
And pick up the paper and read the "obits"
If my name is missing I know I'm not dead
So I have a good breakfast and go back to bed

Founding fathers of the "We'll break our foot off in your [censored] organization!"
Better be nice to us, or we will beat you with our canes! (once we find where we left them....)
Back on subject:
The last tooth that I had to have removed had hurt so bad that it was nothing but relief when it was finally pulled. The dentist asked if the shot hurt. I asked him: What thot?
My wife had 7 taken out and went back to work two days later. I currently do not plan on missing any work. We shall see.....

Just an update:
I went in to the doctor's office at about 10 minutes to 3pm. By 3:03pm, I was paying the receptionst my dental co-pay of $20. Both teeth had been extracted with no problem. Absolutely faster than I could have ever asked for.
The only side effect was a little bit of a headache yesterday. The Doctor gave me some lovely vicodin pills for the pain, but I haven't needed a single one. (weekend's coming though, so you never know.....)
