I bet this is a Euro-thing but am I the only father who has to listen to a deranged (sp?) german crocodile who sings "Schni, Schna, Shnappi" everytime I drive my kids somewhere in the car?

Ooh Schnappi...das geile Krokodile!

Schnappi isn't that bad compared to other popular 'party music' in Holland. The more infantile and the more sex the better it seems.

I thought it was "kleine" krokodil.

(This is the most important thread right now)

Same in german, although "geil" can also mean "cool"/"awesome" etc.

Schnappi, yet another great german cultural export (in line with beethoven, sausages and kraftwerk).

Schnappi in the car for 2 hours made me borderline insane last saturday. When we stopped at 10.20 am to have a late breakfast at McDonalds I was told that they stopped serving breakfast at 10.

Anyone seen Falling down? Man, I was not far from getting the Schnappi CD from the car and shove it up that clearks.... hm, well that crock is getting to me,thats all.

I actually figured that out. Just wanted to be a wiseguy.

Gross - large, but what is middle? mittel?

something of average/medium/normal/middle size would be described as "mittelgroß" in german.

obviously

Howcome you are such a germanwiz? Even went through the trouble of finding that made up double S letter.

I read german for 4 years and cant make one single sentence without screwing up the grammar. I blame that on my Norwegian genepool.

groot is large
middel - middle

Though German and Dutch do have a lot of similarities most Germans find it very hard to speak Dutch. Then again most Belgians find it very hard to speak Dutch. :P

Not much trouble at all, I have one of those "made-up" german keyboards.

Quit laughing TK. You wouldnt have known either if you sat in a billion degrees hot attic trying to work and play wok simultaniously.

I guess not only brits attend Oxford. Picked up a hell of a vocabulary and grammar knowledge if you dont mind me saying so.

Do you still speak like the germans in old warmovies?

"Ich müss ze AOF fillen bevor ze totline sind gepass"

Wait, you had the grammar and vocabulary pinned. Guess you didnt leave me much material to work with here except.......

Guys, whatever you do when you discuss with Xarfei, just dont

MENTION THE WAR

This is all I remember from 4 years of study:

"Können Sie mich helfen bitte, mit die füse"

And

"I hapt dunkle brillen gekauft"

I probably screwed those to up anyway. I vaguely remember them. I do remember the stupid pictures that came along to the phrases and that the teacher refused to say what "light-saber" was in german. (no, I wasnt a member of the "jock" crowd in school)

'Ich habe' I guess, don't tease him, he has enough trouble with his own language, remember? :P

Depends how much he's had to drink (and how much of other substances have been passed round). Apparently there's this 'pendulum', you see...
