I'm not sure museums count but just in case:
Anne Frank House -
http://www.annefrank.org
Jewish Historical Museum -
http://www.jhm.nl/english.aspx
Bananenbar -
http://www.channels.nl/amsterdam/banaan.html
Rijksmuseum -
http://www.rijksmuseum.nl
Van Gogh Museum -
http://www.vangoghmuseum.nl
Basically the whole downtown section of Amsterdam is historical with a lot of historial 'golden age' buildings left.
Does it have to be historical or can it be cultural too?

Cultural i can really show you around.

You want to check out:
OLD WRITERS
Joost van den Vondel
Multatuli
Pieter Corneliszoon Hooft
20TH CENTURY WRITERS
Anne Frank
Ferdinand Bordewijk
Simon Carmiggelt
Willem Frederik Hermans
Harry Mulisch
Gerard Reve (who used to live two streets down from us)
And a lesser know writer who wrote a lot about Amsterdam is Geert Mak.

So far as i know Amsterdam has three major art musseums.
- The Van Gogh musseum (a free beer for anybody except protput who can pronounce Van Gogh correctly

).
- Rijksmusseum (
http://www.rijksmuseum.nl)
- Rembrandt House (
http://www.rembrandthuis.nl/)
Of course you've got the famous SEX musseum and the Hash musseum as well.

A lovely little city located where the Fox River meets Lake Winnebago.

p.s. You won't see SmashFace there right now, no matter how far you zoom in ... he's currently located in another Wisconsin city, pretending to be attending a University known for its business program.

I've become a Google Map junky ...
Here's the neighborhood I grew up in:
http://maps.google.com/maps?q=wausau,+w ... &t=k&hl=en
See that road that runs off the bottom part of the picture, just to the right of the picture's mid-point? If you were to head north on that road from the bottom of the picture, go straight through that first intersection, then turn right on the next road ... my parent's house is the second on the left.

(Please don't visit them!)

Google Maps = very cool. Although it's a bit outdated... I looked up my house, and they've been doing construction in the Firestone lot for almost a year now and none of it shows... My house though looks great... I'm half-convinced I can see my car...

It's not that its outdated so much as satelite photos are only taken every so often. Terraserver is way cooler than google maps though.
