Ultimate geek toys

Post by gm_al » Fri Nov 26, 2004 12:06 pm

With all the animosities in the political thread i thought Id throw in a topic to give us all something... different.

Here they come, the ultimate geek toys for the "big boys". Here is my latest, bought it yesterday (and its an austrian product, Im sooo proud :P )

LAKS MP3/memory watch:
- solid and good clock- and framework (a good watch by itself actually, mineral glass cover too)
- 256 MB memorystick (USB), hot plug&play
- playback of MP3/WMA/ADPCM (in VERY good quality, playback up to 320 Kbps)
- includes 4 equalizer modes
- rechargeable and loadable through USB (adapter integrated in wrist)
- plays up to 8 hours of audio and takes 1.5 hours to charge (lithium battery, independant from clock)
- voice recorder functionality
- good earphones included (1 meter lenght)
- adapter to charge watch (when there is no PC near) included

Price was 198 euros regular, but I had an old watch with them I was able to "upgrade" so it only cost me 109 euros :P

Here is a pic of the ultimate geeky toy:

Geek toys! :D Yay! This is my kind of thread.

Here is the toy I got yesterday:

It's a Canon EOS 20D. A very good digital camera. I have only had a few hours to play with it so far, but I love it already!

BTW. Did you know that the word Laks means Salmon in norwegian? :p

Ooh the Canon EOS 20D...NICE! :D

Although i like geek toys i hate spending the (too) high price for them.

Though i am thinking of getting the Medion MD95200.

It's a IPOD 'clone', 20gb hard disk, it can also read SD/MMC cards and the best thing is that it's only 200 euro. :D

I've got a new LG intell washing machine that weighs your clothes so it knows how much water to use and how long it'll take to clean them. Plus cos it's a 7.5kg load it can wash loads of stuff at once including a double duvet.

Girls can have geeky toys too

Hate to say it but I'd rather have the washing machine than the cameras/mp3 players. Only time I listen to music is in my room or in my car... both of which have CD's accessible :P

That washing machine sounds like it'll iron my clothes too... that's a good thing since I suck at ironing...
