What we poor unwanted nobodies will find then is that suddenly out of the blue we will make the 'beautiful people' list miraculously - our original invitation having been lost in the ether.

And will we be available????? TOO RIGHT WE WILL - I want a turn in the Ferrari!

I'm planning to get this game set up tonight and invite the 8 players.

The 8 players i'll invite are chosen not so much because of their great skill in playing the game, but more in their skill and willingness at writing great background stories. :D

The game is ready! :D

You can find the game page here:

I will mail out the invites and with a bit of luck we can start the game tomorrow!

Just to make sure that the players don't miss the houserules, here they are:

Special Rules

1. It's good to be king! That will for sure be true in this game. There can only be one king and therefore there will be only one winner in this game who will get 2 vps.

2. After each round it is decided if the current king will keep his crown or if a new king will be crowned. This will be decided as follows. The player whole controls the most castles (King's Landing doesn't count) will be crowned king. If there is a draw the player with the most provinces will be crowned king. If there's still a draw, a throw of the dice will decide who will be crowned king. King's Landing does not

3. The player that is crowned king will gain control of King's Landing (province 1).

4. At the start of the game King's Landing will have a total of 125 workers in it and nothing else. It is not allowed to move these workers out of King's Landing.

5. Players are not allowed to attack King's Landing with armies. It may be bombed or spied but not attacked with armies. This means that King's Landing can only be 'won' by becoming the King.

6. The player that controls King's Landing may use King's Landing just like any other province (including attacking, bombing and spying out of King's Landing) except moving the 125 workers as they always have to remain in King's Landing.

7. There are 16 castles on this island (not counting King's Landing). Each castle has an increased DEF of 2.5 and you will find more pop in a castle province than in other neutral provinces (check the pop file).

Rule Modifications

1. The headhunting rule has been extended to 3 turns. With the exception of spying which is only not allowed on the first turn. So no attacking or bombing of a home provinces for the first 3 turns.

2. The EFF penalty and bonus for a successful spy opperation has been set to 1%.

3. The EFF penalty and bonus for a failed spy opperation has been set to 1%.

4. The EFF bonus for a successful spy player opperation has been set to +2%.

5. The EFF penalty for a failed spy player opperation has been set to -4%.

6. The effect of sabotaging DEFENCES has been increased from 0.1 to 0.2 defences per spy.

7. The effect of sabotaging MISSILES has been increased from 2 to 4 missiles per spy.

8. The number of workers it takes to increase EFF by 1% has been lowered from 8 to 6 workers.

Very nice site Sal, very nice indeed. The EFF from WOK adjustment will be well wicked ...

*Vortan scurries off to pack his things. This could be a long and perilous journey indeed. 'That's 8 Reams of Parchment, 20 bottles of ink and 50 brand new quills. I must record the whole adventure for posterity. Now, have I any clean socks?'

Just a little addition to the house rule to clarify something.

Code: Select all

8. As said above the player that controls province 01 can use it as any other province. However should the crown change hands at the end of the turn anything that is in province 01 becomes the property of the new king. So if you were stationing your armies in province 01 you will lose them to the other player.

So far 5 of the 8 players have accepted the invitation, so we're just waiting to hear from the last three players before i can set up the game page.

But to start things of let's see what Lord Vortan the Red Viper of House Martell has been up to!

I'll admit I haven't read the books, but I spent a good 4 hours on the Song of Ice and Fire wiki site last night while at work. Seems like good stuff, but the plot's a bit hard to follow when it's all densely summarized.

Yeah tons of characters and plots all interweaving. No real good or bads guys, just people acting like people do...a bit like here in Kaomaris. :D

The best way to follow the plot is of course to read the books. And seeing like you've got a lot of sleepless nights ahead of you why not start on them. :D

Let me get this straight.

TBert can't look at WoK from work, but can spend FOUR HOURS reading book reviews?!

AND WE'RE OFF!

One player (Hannibal) is still unconfirmed, but i just had to start the game now...i've never been good at waiting. :)

Thanks to some great programming and bug hunting by Chris we can actually play the game via the lobby (YAY CHRIS! :worship:) so that saves me a lot of work each turn. Time i can hopefully spend on writing some nice turn reports.

I don't have any provinces and a score of 0.

I trust the T1 turn reports will give our correct locations. Yes?

by Saladin
Yeah, you shouldn't have picked Lannister...me not like them much. :P

That is probably caused by me having to set the players to their home provinces manually after i had run turn 00.

So the system now has you in province 33 (Lannister red). And looking at the pop file there is 124 pop in Lannisport right now (108*1.15).

So just ignore your turn report for turn 00 and trust the map. :)

Yes the turn 01 reports and so on will give the correct province info.

With the exception of province 01 King's Landing. As after every round it will go to the (new) king. So after every round i will manually set the ownership of province 01 to the right player.

I will announce the (new) king in the commentary and will also add the province information for province 01 there.
