X-Game idea.
Ok, so this one came up in conversation with Donut: A way to compensate for our reduce player base. - 5 player WoK.
This could work in two ways, firstly as 5 player taking two spots each, sort of a mixture between Duel and 'Classic' WoK.
The second idea would probably be preferable as it wouldn't be very different in terms of planning.
Everyone controls one province on a 60 province map.
All tech requirements for attacks are reduced by 50 (so 4 attacks are always possible)
99 becomes the maximum for transformation and movement orders.
What do people think. Would there need to be any further tweaks to compensate for the effectively increased size of the map?
Chris.

5 player sounds good idea but I suspect newbees may be intimidated by the thought of two positions to run. Although the game is fairly easy to learn the basics for trying to co-ordinate two seperate groups might be too much for some.
To be honest - until I get comfy with WOK standard I am not even tempted to try duel. Perhaps BOTH options would work together. A stepping stone to Duels? What u all think to that?

OK, here's the plan as I see it.
5 players on a full sized map. (Probably the original map for the first try).
5 'silos' - Heavily guarded provinces which contain a wealth of stuff. Ie Home provinces for the other 5 spots, producing missiles instead of defense every turn. Possibly with a higher starting POP an WOK value too.
All tech requirments for attacks reduced by 50. - Allowing one more attack than usual for all players (maximum 7)
Maximum transform and movement 99.
16 starting armies.
No other changes to the WoK-On defaults.
Any suggestions? - specifically the silos, should they have an inflated ARM, LEV or DEF to make them more secure? - I'd like them to become more useful in the later game, but it's a tricky balance between making them possile to take early on and not worth taking later...

Yeah, you say that like it's the easy option...
A smaller map would need to be designed, with an ini in the standard WoK format. I'd then have to add it to the kaobase and, when running turn 0, ensure that spots 1 to 5 all landed in provinces 1 to 30. It is a whole lot more work and gives us a less variable result at the end.
In my version, the other 5 spots don't have to be occupied. I just thought it would add to the fun of the game to use the slots somehow.
