Are you a wokito?

Post by Duke » Sun May 30, 2004 5:52 am

So you claim to be a wok-addict. Well are you really? In order to truly be able to call yourself a "wokito" then you need to have done some sort of software/hardware alteration of your computer to make it more "wok-adjusted"

Along the way I have stumbeld across freeware that I've found useful when I am commanding the forces of wok. I've just discovered some new freeware as well (that I havent tested yet).

Here are some suggestions of useful freeware.

Qlock 1.44
www.qlock.com

Shows the time in different places around the world. Useful when you are making plans with one guy from the us and one from australia and the gm is from uk (as example). Also useful if you are in more than one group and are closing in on the deadline. You could set alarms on the different times so you dont miss it due to timezones.

Pos-it Software Notes Lite 3.0.1.1069
www.3m.com

Yellow post-its that goes on your desktop. I like them. I post spy info on one and other stuff on yet another etc. and have them around the map when I plan things so I dont have to scroll up and down on the turnsheet.

Rambooster 1.6
www.sci.fi/~borg/rambooster

Some gizmo that frees more RAM-memory for you. Not useful if you have a top-of-the-line computer, however I dont.

Httrack Website Copier 3.2
www.httrack.com

For those of you that has a called-up connection. It downloads an entire domain with all sub-domains so you can "surf" on it without being online. Less expensive this way. (unless the company payes for your home account like me 8) )

Trillian 0.74F
www.ceruleanstudios.com/trillian

Some of you bozos use ICQ or AIM or even Yahoo messenger. You can either force them to use MSN or you could use Trillian and be able to chat with everyone.

Well, that is it for now. Please add stuff here if you have some.

Duke see that httr5ack one, does it download the entire domain or does it just download all pages that are linked to in the domain, eg, will it download pages on the domain which are not directly linked to?

I think you can add me to the list of wokitos.
Now if I could write a program that made me good at WOK, then I would be happy! 8)
